I have just tried RPHD with images on my PS3 and get pictures but no sound {#Eh}. Getting sound via an internet radio plugged into hifi but shame it will not work properly on PS3 yet.

What is an Ubuntu64 and how do you connect the media server to the PS3?  Can you please explain at the "idiot savante" level?

If you do not know what Ubuntu is then you probably have either some Mac or Windows PC. Several options are available to you:

- Windows7 and ps3mediaserver:  see  http://otmanix.de/english/2009/10/10/ps3-media-server-on-windows-7/
- Mac and ps3mediaserver: see http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30399/ps3-media-server/
- Windows7 and Windows Media Player: see for example http://www.igoy.in/connect-ps3-to-windows-7-through-wmp-12/

I am not familiar with any of them (nor with Windows or OS-X). Perhaps somebody might be able to help out here. It is about streaming to a DLNA compliant Upnp Media client.

For info on Ubuntu see http://www.ubuntu.com/

Have fun!

BTW: I am streaming only the "regular radio stream" not "RPHD with images". I would love to see my Philips Net.TV be able to do that directly as well (Javascript stuff is not supported :-( )

Well I have a RP "playlist" configured on a Ubuntu64 machine, running the PS3 media server => the PS3 picks it up and pipes the data stream through the optical cable to a fancy surround system.

Well I have a RP "playlist" configured on a Ubuntu64 machine, running the PS3 media server => the PS3 picks it up and pipes the data stream through the optical cable to a fancy surround system. One sees the PS3 default "planet pictures" (without the now playing info -/-) but once the connection is up I switch off the TV anyway... A bit of a hassle indeed...

Because once in while the connection is lost I have a separate "RP directory" with several audiostreams setup; so when one is lost the next is used.

I don't have a PS3 for testing. You might try launching the new RPHD link on our front page (just click the TV) & wee what happens.

I've read that RP is currently working on getting RPHD available for Blu-Ray players etc. Is there any hope for us PS3 owners? The RPHD channel would be very well suited for a PS3 and boy how i'd love that.
(PS, i'm sorry if there is another topic for this, i couldn't find anything so i started a new one)
Kind regards,
