i apologize for that. i was sort of encouraging a thread jack.

Don't read to much into it,I'm not really sure either.It was a volunteer song, it wrote itself for me in my sleep I think.

It's pretty good, but I can come up with stuff a level below this 24/7.With the 100 monkeys on a keyboard theory some of it would be this good, it just wouldn't come out as good on the first try.

I was trying to finish a song that I wrote a long time ago. Just the music alone has made people cry, but I've only got one verse and a chorus.Rather than force an ending and turn what is essentially a work of art into commercial crap I filed it away.I was rummaging around through some stuff and came across it and realized I was feeling a similar vibe, so I worked on it but the verse I need didn't pop out like I was hoping it would. I've got all kinds of endings for it but not the one that belongs there.Until it shows it self I guess that song will stay in the halfway done box.I really hope it finishes itself one day though.
Anyway, this song popped out as a result of getting in the zone on the song I was actually working on the night before. Totally different styles, the other one is soft fingerpicking with full on nail on the up pick, and fleshy thumb and fingerstrumming that stays soft.This song is purposely jangly(well I assume ,purposely, I don't really feel like I wrote it.My soul was just wide open from the work I did the night before and I happened to catch this somewhere in my sleep I think.) I gotta admit though, I see a couple really impressive subtlties that I didn't plan on.Maybe I'm just a natural.
Kind of a Roy Hobbs thing, ya know?
I was wound so tight over my moms health for so long I think there's tons of this stuff backed up just waiting in line to pop out.I mean TONS.

In my observations, though, more often than not, people rush headlong into RP crushes, get hurt, and are full of regret.

Getting involved with a fellow RPer is much like dating someone in the workplace, or (in my case, back in the day) your home 12-Step meeting. Very, very risky. If it goes well--yay. If not, things can be mighty uncomfortable in a place that should feel really safe.


I know one should never say never, but I like my relationships to be completely independent of anyone here. It's nice to know that other people aren't PMing the person and having secret talks and knowing things I don't know...that just feels rather f-cked up and dysfunctional to me. To me, mind you. Maybe not others.

And, like you said, unless you're one of the rare ones (and we do have 'em here, bless all their hearts )....the long distance thing often times just doesn't lend itself to getting that necessary time to experience everyday life and really KNOW if you're compatible. People can be so ideal from miles away...more like a fantasy than reality. I've seen it happen here time and time and time again.

I hope you have a fireplace. When it's cold and windy outside I find a certain smug happiness from sitting by a warm fireplace.
