Going on a trip to visit Nebraska so I've pulled up as much nut grass as I can find anywhere near the garden and added more soil to the potato bag. I'm hoping my grandson's "3 sisters" planting will come up while I'm gone - two of the beans have broken the soil so far. My daughter put in roses yesterday in the soil between the curb and the sidewalk. My spinach and mesclun mix is up and the chard. I put in cilantro, basil, and mint and they survived and are doing good. Put cherry tomatoes in a planter on my daughters balcony cause that's where most of the sun goes! Found poison ivy on my left arm! I prolly won't recognize the place by the time I get back! |

In the gutters up the south-facing wall is basil, parsley, Asian green, kale and beans. Water will be a premium this summer, so I don't know if they'll be happy or mad there. Today it was 80° and tomorrow it's supposed to be 90°. I bought myself $28 worth of plants at the local greenhouse. I've started all my own tomatoes, but they're not put to bed yet. I was just reading up on companion planting and my eyes are crossing now, wondering if I've put the right things together. Our irrigation system is under major repair right now and Scott is about 400 buck into it. I sure hope his inventioneering pays off... Looks good to me - good luck! |

Since he found "iAnythings" he doesn't care too much like he used too. in the past he liked certain tasks And liked being out in a garden where he can pick things but now he's a little prima Donna-ish. Kinda like a cat. Stands in the door looking like "oh that feels like 69°. I'll wait till its 72°." Later "oh it's 75°. That's hotter than I expected." I do that |

when you start seeds indoors, you need to slowly introduce the plants to outside conditions. too quickly and the plants can sunburn. it takes about a week to 10 days of gradually moving the plants from shade to sun. |
