so. i went to pick up jezebel (squeaks) today. apparently she has only one time been in a carrier before. didn't like it. so we made a quick exit. she talked (meowed, cried) to me about how unhappy she was during the 15 minute drive home. when i got home (i had another stressful unexpected thing do deal with, with a friend who needed to come over right then, too) she didn't want to come out of the carrier, so i let her just be. murray was on the couch hanging out with my girlfriend. eventually, he came down, sniffed her in the carrier and hissed and ran into my bedroom. jez came out eventually, slinked around the living room, and found a place to hide in a corner where i had an afghan made my our agnes set up for her - i knew she'd go there. she nested right in. and hasn't moved since. murray has walked around, hung out with me, gone over there, sniffed a little - not too close - and retreated to pout in my bedroom. squeaks is open to loves and pets and rubs and she purrs and drools all over me, and is happy in her nest. i'm not sure what i'm going to do for the part of the night that i have to sleep, but things haven't been too bad YET. we'll see what happens. i know murray is interested, and i know she is scared and shy. but she's sweet. i think it MIGHT be ok in time. we'll see. she's been in a home with no significant human interaction for four years, only female in a house of 2 huge male dogs and 4 other male cats. poor thing. i hope this can work.

yeah, of course. i'm just saying that if he absolutely hates it, and freaks out this weekend, she'll go back monday or tuesday. if not, i plan to see how it goes for a week. then make the decision. i hope he'll be ok. i'm worrying all about him and not her. so watch that she'll actually be the one i should be worrying about always what you don't expect...

I think they'll be fine. I'm just worried that it may take longer than a weekend for them to really get used to each other but hopefully they will become fast friends.

we'll see. i'm not worried about her. she's sweet, very, very shy, docile and cute. i am just hoping he doesn't act up. his happiness is paramount. if he is too unhappy, then she goes back. crossing fingers.

Oh how exciting.  Hope is works out.

i'm excited. tomorrow after work i am going to pick up the 4 yr old kitteh i may be giving a forever home, if all works out this weekend with she and murray. i'm nervous. but excited and hopeful.
