Hey, Jrzy:

Can you give a brief explaination why you have to switch to OS9 to RIP?

At our shop in Fairfield, NJ, we can RIP equally from either OSX or OS9 (Classic running in OSX). Even our old Heidelberg DI Press can handle it, as long as we send Postscript Level 2.

How big is your shop? We run a Kodak/Creo Prinergy work flow that is incredible. Every file we get in gets converted to a PDF for imposition and output via Prinergy.

Thank you! I just added my GMail account into Apple Mail. I didn't realize this could be done--and I learned it because of a radio station.

sometimes we will make a PDF, most times, I just save the doc back to quark 5, open in 9 and rip.
When using InDesign, PDF is the way to go

yup no problems with gmail...just the yahoo and msn...I figured as much with Yahoo, probably the same with msn.

not sure about hotmail, but yahoo doesn't offer free POP access. $10/month, I think.

Thanks but I'm trying to get all my mail accounts to come into the Mail utility native to OSX kinda like Outlook does for WinDoze users.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but YMail.app shows the status of your Yahoo mail account in your menu bar. See ymail.sourceforge.net
Google mail also has a menu bar app. mail.google.com/mail/help/notifier/index.html

I have a general question about using the Mail utility on OSX.
it works great for receiving some mail clients but I can't get it to work retrieving my MSN/hotmail or my Yahoo mail...has anyone had success with this? and if so...how?
