But really, fans and players (and owner) all seem to think Yanks belong in the post-season every goddamn year. TV has a wet dream dreaming up NY-LA World Series. Steinbrenner has a fit when Yanks fall behind by a few games - in the first week!

Here's the bottom line: Dynastes are bad for business. There are 31 other teams out there and it's nice to spread the love around. Yanks' attitudes is just asking to be dissed.

I like the Yanks fans in this forum and anything I say is in good fun, there's no meanspiritedness behind it directed at you.

Okay, I just have to put this out there (even though I think I've said it before):

I can understand trash talking in the Fantasy Baseball league, that's part of the competitive nature of it, especially since you have players from a whole bunch of different teams. But why must you guys talk trash about the players and teams that are the competition to your "favorite" team in MLB? Can we not have some respect for these men that play the sport (and their talent) even if they don't play for your team?

I grew up with a very healthy love of sports, both as a viewer and a competitor, but I have never been one to talk sh*t about another team OR players on another team (unless it's someone like a T.O. in football that has brought it on himself with his behavior).

It's unfortunate, but I've stopped poking my head into this forum because people just get so MEAN about other teams and players on other teams. I rarely come in here anymore because most of the time, I'm ready to bash someone over the head for being such a jerk about things. I guess I'll continue to refrain from coming in here because there will always be those who prefer the trash talking to the true enjoyment of seeing the players take the field each day and compete.

I'll just shut up now.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. All I know is that I love my Yankees (since I used to ride the Lex Line to the Stadium in the late 80's - early 90's to watch them mostly lose), they will be in contention, and once in the playoffs anything can happen. A little trash talk comes with the territory (come on, it's the Yankees and Boston, for goodness sakes!). Lording our 26 championships over everyone, well...that's a Yankees thing (since no one else can claim it).

I do agree that taking it to the level of personal attacks on individual players lives is over the top.
