Camel was one of the great ones! Not very well known in the 70's in the USA... My friends and I listened to "Twister" over and over.

The San Jose Chamber Ensemble does weird stuff like that.

They're a bunch of students from San Jose State and they transcribe bands like Metallica and The Beatles into chamber music. It's very strange to hear "Helter Skelter for Cellos and Brass".

Influenced a lot by YES. But a lot more heavy in their progressiveness. They've been known to perform continuous 3-4 hour sets, tributes to Metallica, and a lot many more things.
