I did, and (IMHO) it didn't. Sorry.

But for those of you who did enjoy it, have fun with the new CD!

You know, I like progressive rock. And Yes is one of my all-time favorite bands: the Anderson-Squire-Howe-Wakeman-Bruford lineup is arguably the most talented and creative bunch of musicians in rock.

But not one of their solo albums really impressed me that much, unfortunately. The whole is far greater than the sum of its parts in this case.

EDIT: If this be heresy, make the most of it.

That Squire record is a gold standard, with extraordinary writing, his stellar bass at its peak, Bruford!, Moraz, Mel Collins...

Geez, I could listen to that thing over and over again - and I did!

That's such a wonderful record, it doesn't deserve the slight negative connotation of "prog." Tant pis.

I must now confess to a profound prog rock attack this morning. While listening to my Wed morning college radio show (WCSB) as I try to do, the DJ played an old live track from Brian Auger and I just couldn't stay away from the volume control.
I apologize to my cat and the neighbors.
