Seems like I'm caught up
in your trap
again
Seems like I'll be
wearing the same
old chains
Good will conquer
Evil
And the truth will
set me free
And I know some
day I will find
the key
I know
somewhere I will
find the key
Seems like I've
been playing your
game way too long
Seems the game
I've played has
made you strong
When the game is
over
I won't walk out the
loser
I know I'll walk
out of here again
I know someday
I'll walk out of
here again
Well now I'm
Trapped
OOh yeah
Trapped
OOh Yeah
Trapped
Seems like I've
been sleeping in
your bed too
long
Seems like you've
been meaning to
do me harm
But I'll teach my
eyes to see
Beyond these
walls in front of
me
Someday I'll walk
out of here again
Someday I'll walk
out of here again
Trapped
OOh yeah
Trapped
OOh Yeah
Trapped
OOh Yeah
Trapped
OOh Yeah
Seems like I've
been playing your
game way too long
Seems the game
I've played has
made you strong
Trapped
OOh yeah
Trapped
OOh Yeah
Trapped
OOh Yeah
Trapped
OOh Yeah

Two Suns in the Sunset
In my rear view mirror the sun is going down
Sinking behind bridges in the road
And I think of all the good things
That we have left undone
And I suffer premonitions
Confirm suspicions
Of the holocaust to come.
The wire that holds the cork
That keeps the anger in
Gives way
And suddenly it's day again.
The sun is in the east
Even though the day is done.
Two suns in the sunset
Hmmmmmmmmmm
Could be the human race is run.
Like the moment when the brakes lock
And you slide towards the big truck
"Oh no!"
" Daddy, Daddy!"
You stretch the frozen moments with your fear.
And you'll never hear their voices
And you'll never see their faces
You have no recourse to the law anymore.
And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.
Ashes and diamonds
Foe and friend
We were all equal in the end.
"...and now the weather. Tomorrow will be cloudy with scattered showers
spreading from the east ... with an expected high of 4000 degrees
Celsius"
Roger Waters

Poverty in their kitchens
Held hostage by oil-for-food
Yet their own plates are full off the fat of their lands
There's no blood on their hands, right Kojo?
They promised to tell the truth
Without leaving a fingerprint, but
They will lose the U.N. one way or another
The victim, I fear will be us, sisters and brothers

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though its breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, youll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
Youll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
Thats the time you must keep on trying
Smile, whats the use of crying?
Youll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
Thats the time you must keep on trying
Smile, whats the use of crying?
Youll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

Starry
starry night
paint your palette blue and grey
look out on a summer's day
with eyes that know the
darkness in my soul.
Shadows on the hills
sketch the trees and the daffodils
catch the breeze and the winter chills
in colors on the snowy linen land.
And now I understand what you tried to say to me
how you suffered for your sanity
how you tried to set them free.
They would not listen
they did not know how
perhaps they'll listen now.
Starry
starry night
flaming flo'rs that brightly blaze
swirling clouds in violet haze reflect in
Vincent's eyes of China blue.
Colors changing hue
morning fields of amber grain
weathered faces lined in pain
are soothed beneath the artist's
loving hand.
And now I understand what you tried to say to me
how you suffered for your sanity
how you tried to set them free.
perhaps they'll listen now.
For they could not love you
but still your love was true
and when no hope was left in sight on that starry
starry night.
You took your life
as lovers often do;
But I could have told you
Vincent
this world was never
meant for one
as beautiful as you.
Starry
starry night
portraits hung in empty halls
frameless heads on nameless walls
with eyes
that watch the world and can't forget.
Like the stranger that you've met
the ragged men in ragged clothes
the silver thorn of bloddy rose
lie crushed and broken
on the virgin snow.
And now I think I know what you tried to say to me
how you suffered for your sanity
how you tried to set them free.
They would not listen
they're not
list'ning still
perhaps they never will.

Every so often throughout the day I'll find myself belting out of few lyrics of a song with no clear provocation. They're usually the same songs.
"Cross the street from your storefront cemetary" -TV on the Radio's "Staring at the Sun"
"I've made a lot of mistakes, I've made a lot of mistakes--in my mind, in my mind - Sufjan Stevens "Chicago"

There are as a matter of fact, some lyrics I can't get outa my head for the past coupl'a days. Problem is, I can't place the song title or artist. I've inquired to such experts as BillG & Maryte and they can't quite place it either.
The song is from the mid to late 70's. I seem to associate the song with either Spooky Tooth or Brian Auger due to the fact that this song is predominatly organ driven. I vaguely recall the title as being "Fantastic Things" or "Fascinating Things" or something ending in "___________Things"
The opening lyric goes "I believe a change is gonna come, get ready for the new things" Another line in the song is "things that move you, groove you, soothe you". I've searched all of Spooky's and Auger's catalogs and come up blanck. I've Googled the lyric snippets and possible song titles and still, nada.
Does anybody out there recognize this song or am I just losing my marbles? |

Every Day She Takes A Morning Bath She Wets Her Hair,
Wraps A Towel Around Her
As She's Heading For The Bedroom Chair,
It's Just Another Day.
Slipping Into Stockings,
Stepping Into Shoes,
Dipping In The Pocket Of Her Raincoat.
Ah, It's Just Another Day.
At The Office Where The Papers Grow She Takes A Break,
Drinks Another Coffee
And She Finds It Hard To Stay Awake,
It's Just Another Day. Du Du Du Du Du
It's Just Another Day. Du Du Du Du Du
It's Just Another Day.
Ay
So Sad, So Sad,
Sometimes She Feels So Sad.
Alone In Her Apartment She'd Dwell,
Till The Man Of Her Dreams Comes To Break The Spell.
Ah, Stay, Don't Stand Her Up
And He Comes And He Stays
But He Leaves The Next Day,
So Sad.
Sometimes She Feels So Sad.
As She Posts Another Letter To The Sound Of Five,
People Gather 'Round Her
And She Finds It Hard To Stay Alive,
It's Just Another Day. Du Du Du Du Du
It's Just Another Day. Du Du Du Du Du
It's Just Another Day.

I heard this on the radio the other day, and it's been stuck in my head on-and-off ever since...
Awake on my airplane
Awake on my airplane
My skin is bare
My skin is theirs
Awake on my airplane
Awake on my airplane
My skin is bare
My skin is theirs
I feel like newborn
And I feel like a newborn
Awake on my airplane
Awake on my airplane
I feel so real
Could you take my picture
'Cause I won't remember
Could you take my picture
'Cause I won't remember - yeah
I don't believe in
I don't believe in your sanctity; or privacy
I don't believe in
I don't believe in sanctity or hypocrisy
Can everyone agree that no one should be left alone
Can everyone agree that they should not be left alone
And I feel like a new-born
And I feel like a new-born (kicking and screaming)
Could you take my picture
'Cause I won't remember
Could you take my picture
'Cause I won't remember - yeah
Hey dad, what do you think about your son now?
Hey dad, what do you think about your son now?
Could you take my picture
'Cause I won't remember
Could you to take my picture
'Cause I won't remember
Could you take my picture
'Cause I won't remember
Could you take my picture
'Cause I won't remember
Could you take my picture
'Cause I won't remember
Could you take my picture
'Cause I won't remember - yeah

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Weight of the World
This is more than I wanted,
Take me out of the dark, I roam there,
Cold and black, you're out of touch, yeah,
Lightly falling through a whisper, you're scared.
It's the weight of the world, I know, as I'm struggling to be.
It's the weight of the world, I know, as you were mine, and we will find...
This is stranger than love for us,
Turning backwards to face the demon,
No excuse for a wasted life,
Lightly falling through a whisper of sky.
It's the weight of the world, I know, as I'm struggling to be.
It's the weight of the world, I know, as you were mine, and we will find...
Time will change, still the world remains the same,
Time will change, still the world remains the same.
It's the weight of the world, I know, as I'm struggling to be.
It's the weight of the world, I know, as you were mine, and we will find...

I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.
So, let's make the most of this beautiful day.
