Snake Love at the lake
The watchful smaller male is on the lookout for usurpers of his position. The much larger female however, appears to have been around the rock a few times already.

Such cool birds. I got a really good (non-digital) photo many years ago on a canoe trip to Okefenokee. I was in the front of the canoe and was positioned very close. Love how they use their camouflaged throats.

Quite a lot of the river.

Can't remember the last time I went upstream.

A beautiful evening, MrsHJ and I were out together tonight, what with work and babysitters organised, we were aboard an evening river trip that the local music festival organisers put on to thank their sponsors and supporters.

Well, over the weekend really, but was having too much fun to post:

Crew races and a few hundred other boats out for the best opening day of boating season in years:

Our spot was right up front this year (new Husky stadium in the background):

UW swept the crews as usual.
