The chairs are so damn slippery.I took him to the ophthalmologist not soon after he got out of rehab, and they did everything right in the wheel chair.Maybe you should look into another eye doc that has more modern equipment and can do that.
I did get a belt, but he's being stubborn, plus since it's mostly wheelchair transfers now,I do the lifting with my arms under his armpits,so I've always got a firm grip. I can't say as I miss him being on the walker. |

Thanks. It's harder than getting him into the car because the armrest on one side of the chair has to be raised,so there's nothing for him to grab onto.I've got to lift his upper half into the dental chair, then he can reach the armrest on the other side. Then while he's holding onto that I can lift his lower half up and swing him all the way into the chair. Yes I got through that when mom goes to the eye doctor. Very scary. |

Did you ever buy that Gates Belt? I need it all the time with mom now.

I guess I'm going to have to make Pops some oatmeal and clean the kitchen up again. The irritating thing is I just did that less than 24 hours ago,and the only thing I've done is eat a sandwich over a piece of newspaper on my desk. How can one guy make such a constant mess?
I'm thinking that General Tsos shrimp for Pops was a mistake, because now I have to disinfect the bathroom again.
Yep, IHMFL. |

They are really good about that. Use them, it's a service they are happy to provide (easier all around to help you manage him safely than to roll in on flashing lights when there has been a problem). |
