I just saw this... wow, what a tough situation. I hope for the "bad" dog's sake, they can get it corralled better. I know it can be difficult to train/retrain all dogs but it would be too bad if it got put down because the owners didn't try.

The lawn mower people came a few minutes ago.  I looked out on the deck and wondered what Boomer was doing out there.  I opened the door to let him in and noticed that it wasn't Boomer.  I told the guys that wasn't my dog, and they chased him out of the gate.  I would hate to see what would have happened if I had actually let him it.{#Lol}

  i wanted our neighbor's dogs to be quiet at night, but i AM friends with them...they're good dogs.  i'd never wish them any harm.  they're friendly to us and always glad to see me.  i might have been a bit frustrated by the lack of sleep, but i'd never want those dogs to be hurt.

but today, that OTHER dog...the one that lives behind us...the one we were afraid was going to get in our yard and dig up Louie's grave...the one that jumps fences and runs wild....the one that has torn through our garbage a couple of times....well...it got into the yard of the friendly dogs and injured one of them pretty badly today.

neighbor lady came and knocked on our door.  she knows a vet who came to her house, and the injured dog is okay....has several staples in gash wounds, and will be on pain meds and antibiotics for a while.  he got a few bites in, too...she said she saw the other dog in the yard where it lives, and the girl there was wiping blood off of it's face and taking pictures of it.

she said she went over there and they said their dog was hurt, and she said that was because it jumped the fence and came into HER yard and attacked her dogs.

she's going to animal control tomorrow.  because she called them, and they said she has to come in person and file a formal complaint.

she came to my door because she wanted us to know why she'd had a friend come and put up a huge plywood barrier in the corner of the fence where our three yards meet.  that MIGHT keep wild dog from getting into her yard THAT way....but he jumps the other fences, too, and if he's determined enough, he'll find another way.

so until she can get a big fence built, she's keeping her dogs inside.  she also put it out there that if we want to go half with her on the new fence, that would be a help to her. i said we'd consider if once she gets some quotes.

i told her that the dragon had been around the block to go speak to wild dog's owner at least once and complained to them about their dog getting out and coming in our yard..but he could only get a young girl to come to the door....we don't think anyone there but the young girl speaks english.

he's been meaning to go over there again since the dog tore up our garbage again last week.  he was hoping to talk to the dad, if he speaks english.

anyway, i told neighbor lady we'll back her up if she needs it.  i hope she took some pictures of her injured dog, too.  that seems to be a good idea.

I usually find a reason to turn down the work. If any work is done, they overpay. The overpayments (and more) are consistently donated to animal related causes.

Note to self: do NOT forget that one of the neighbors' dogs (that I'm watching this weekend) knows how to get out of their yard and make a run for it.  {#Frustrated}  Luckily I was able to catch her less than a block from their house. Apparently she doesn't like to poop in their yard anymore.
