Guilty pleasures was my theme for this one.  Keren Ann is my newest one, so much so that I actually bought the CD.  Love the lyrics and that hooky bass throughout.  Into JS for a lyrical reply to the first track.  Vinyl, never made it to CD.  I want to do a mix around Stairway To Cleveland somehow from that album in the future.  Do Ya just popped into my head as the answer to both previous tracks.  This is the original version.  The Move predates ELO and Jeff Lynne brought the song with him to ELO after the Move broke up.

Toy Matinee was something that got a little airplay here in Cleveburg when it came out and this song was the reason I bought that CD.  The last line in Do Ya set that one up for the segue.  Seeings howse we were flying, Eight Miles High was a WTF, why not kinda thing.  Then flying naked on an airplane taking pictures into Japanese pictures and London Calling into Politics of Dancing which is part of a favorite segue that dates back to my cassette days.{#Mrgreen}  My all time favorite version of Morning Dew slides into two ooh la la’s.  Local heroes Brewer & Shipley into Brian Wilson’s GV from the mythical Smile album that finally got finished after Brian escaped from the mad doctor.  The lyrics took some getting used to but the way the music was done this time just beats the original by light years.  And out with one of my favorite one hit wonders that I still like even though you hear it everywhere on commercials and TV credits.

Had tons of fun doing it and listened to it for a few months before giving it up.
Printing is still primitive here so no artwork with this …

Here is the playlist for the live mp3 mix from my third one that I never posted that is on the disc with the 3 hour mix for those long rides.  There is no playlist for that one, but I can tell what one is if you tell me what’s in front of it and after it.  Like Curved Air is what follows the Dave Mason track. Lot’s of turning the volume up and down.  Threw it together in an hour going out the door to the OBX last trip.

Playlist  RP MCC 3

1 ~ Michael Stanley ~ Let’s Get The Show On The Road

2 ~ James Gang ~ The Bomber (40thReunion Concert)

12 ~ The Who ~ Magic Bus

  I enjoyed this mix quite a bit. Lot of 80's stuff that i haven't heard in, well since the 80's. When Politics of Dancing came on I was thinking I haven't heard this Bowie song in awhile and was puzzled to see Reflex as the artist. Had to Google that one to find out if it was a guest vocal or not (NOT). The live disc didn't play in the car so I haven't given it an ear yet. Now seeing the list I will have to find the time to put it on the puter. Thanks for the listening pleasure Kurtster! {#Cheers}

Cool, 2 in.

The second disc I'll discuss now a little bit as it is not the main attraction.  Last go round, fuzzy mentioned that he did a lot of driving and I mentioned that I had a 3 hour mix I made up for my last trip to the Outer Banks and that he would be most interested in giving it a listen.  So I finally found it and burned it along with an mp3 version of my 3rd RPMCC disc which was all live music.  I not sure if any of our current members ever received it and for some reason, I simply fell apart back then and never even posted the playlist or anything else about it.

So in an effort of getting the most for the postage dollar, I tossed them in and figured I might as well share them with everyone.  There is no playlist for that one.  Its one giant 3 hour and 22 minute mp3 mix composed of remasters from hippie and me put together, crossfaded an all.  It plays as a single track so there is no skipping to the next song in case you might hear a track that doesn't float your boat.  It does require some periodic adjusting of the volume as some were never good enough for public consumption.  But what the hell.  So if your car player doesn't do mp3 discs, throw it on your ipod or whatever and give it a listen.  Best listened to while boogying down the freeway in the wee hours of the night.  But that's just me.

Cheers for now !

Don't want to give the theme away, so I won't say anything at the moment except that I enjoyed your mixture greatly as usual. Bravo! {#Cheers}

And hell, when my head is full of rock & roll, it needs to be aired out now and then and this CD fits the bill to perfection.

Well done. {#Clap} And i love the pic at the very top. The lady appears enraptured. {#Hearteyes}

Couldn't add much more to that myself.  It will be a go to CD for me, too, whenever I need a good mental flossing.

The waltz is one of the simplest dances there are, and the music tends to be spare and elegant. It also tends to be heartbreakingly beautiful. This collection is all music I have personally danced to, on CDs I bought from the musicians themselves.

Covers are in slightly odd order due to the layout in the software I used.
