Thanks, my RPeeps... my husband has been on the road for the last two weeks, and y'all have helped me get through it. He'll be walking through the door any minute, now, and I'll have him until the week after we move into the new house (about two and a half full weeks!) before his job demands his attentions, again. New life. New location. New attitude, I guess. The quiet, suburban life is over.

During the 10-dollar Tuesday ad campaign I really got to thinking about how rare a find like RP is. Think about it: where else can I get high-fidelity music ANYWHERE with a broadband connection, with a ~70% chance that it's playing something I like AND a 0% chance of getting an earful of garbage from advertisers? Where else can I hear a mellow mix of old, new and underground?

Before RP I used to keep a playlist of ~15,000 songs on my Winamp, all of which were pirated from bittorrent. The trouble is I only listened to ~5% of that and I never came across anything interesting or new, mostly just off-the-wall crap. Randomizing my playlist would just cause me to skip songs until I heard something OK. Nobody won: I didn't get good music and musicians didn't get money.

Now I have the RP AAC64k .m3u on my flash drive with VLC portable so I can listen to a continuous mix of usually GREAT music from anywhere, all with no upfront cost! Now THAT's a deal. Now everyone wins: I get good tunes, the musicians get royalties and the Goldsmiths are the much-appreciated middlemen!

So I just put my couple bucks in the pot to keep this operation going. This is definitely one enterprise I don't want to see fold under the current economic pressure. Thank you very, very much Bill, Rebecca & crew! Cheers!
