They look that tall, don't they? The wooden fence is actually only about 7' and the brick wall is 5'. It's kind of ridiculous to walk up to that back brick fence and stand literally head and shoulders above it. We talked about sinking a conversation pit back there but we really want mature trees for the birds to roost in, so I don't know if we'll go that route. We'll talk to the landscaping architect about it and see if it's in the budget to have both. A fire pit would be lovely, too.

Something like this...

Not a lot, but we didn't start with much, either. That's been our biggest sadness, after coming from the House by the Magic Forest; we had such a large, wooded property before, and moving to the city has meant sacrificing that. We'll plant a storm up in the spring, though, when we get the landscape architect in here!

The pool is going in. A few process photos (I find all this construction stuff fascinating!)

Mapping the pool with spray paint...

Digging begins...

Rebar installation:

Plumbing...

Blowing the gunite in...

Its current state before the pool surface is blow on, the tile and coping are installed, and the deck is laid....

Tile shower upstairs is being repaired. Contractor just came downstairs with two buckets full of sandy, broken-up mortar and sat them both down on the hardwood to open the front door. {#Eek}

{#Frustrated}

Please let it end, soon.

Ok, so very soon, probably within the next two months, Greg and I will be hosting a cocktail housewarming party. We are inviting all interested RPeeps to attend and the invitation is sincere. If we know each other, if we've been friendly here on RP for the last X number of years, if you like cocktail weenies wrapped in bacon and smothered in maple syrup, you're invited.

I'll post details when I have them... watch this space!
