Yep, sure am. I can't believe it's been a whole week!
I was just starting to look normal again (well, normal as I can) after my sunburn a couple of weeks ago and got some more at Grandson's graduation Friday. Not as bad this time, though. I don't think I'll peel this time.
Robbie Robertson (with his Native American Red Road Ensemble) did a song that is cricket songs slowed way down.....it sounds like a chorale. They had a real chorale singing in the background and a soloist for added effect. Unbelievably cool.
That is cool! Maybe that first idea wasn't so bad after all. I'll bet Manbird could make that work.

*edit* Scratch that idea. The wild crickets might start singing in concert with our invention and I don't think the neighbors would appreciate that.

It would be cool if we could electrify those damn things so that they kept time. zap-zip-zap-zap • zap-zip-zap-zap it's a reggae cricket jam.
You could be on to something! I saw an animated GIF on here a few days ago that showed a keyboard that played cats. We could miniaturize it and use crickets instead.

I read a book once, about 1964, titled "A Confederate General from Big Sur," in which the protagonist was able to silence a whole pond full of noisy frogs by going out on his front porch and shouting, "Campbell's Soup!" at them.
