Other option: If you have a laser printer, you may be able to "print" a Postscript file. That definitely carries everything, fonts and all. Then I can distill that for you. ...or you can upload it to Zamzar. This should really be absolutely bulletproof but, y'know. |

- minimum file size (publishing online) (not checked)
Does any of that sound like what I should do? Standard should have embedded. can you get in and tweak the settings? You can in Acrobat. I don't know what you're using. |

I did this weeks ago so the silkscreen shop would have plenty of time to make the screens and fix any problems but just now the parts showed up and they realized oh crap I have to make screens for this and they opened the PDFs (with a Mac) and OMG they don't have the standard Windows fonts I used 'cuz I didn't know any better.
So I sent them the TTF files from my WindowsFonts folder and hopefully that will do it but what else could I do? Is there a way to get Acrobat to embed the fonts in the PDF or can I convert to vector art or something? Is it that hard to get standard Windows fonts for a Mac?
when you make a PDF, STANDARD and PRESS output setting embed the fonts. or you can tweek one of the other setting to include the fonts. |

Yes, embedding fonts should be an option, and yes, TTF is pretty much standard now. Send me the PDF and the fonts and I'll package it.
Oh and yes if you can convert to Vector, then great.
And anyway, the fonts are *supposed* to go along with a PDF, that's the point. If they're opening it with Illustrator or something, of course they're having errors. Maybe rasterize it 300 dpi TIFF and send 'em that. |

for the record, I used "Puzzle Flow" to make this conversion. Still having some issues with "just" black pages printing cmyk tho, so maybe that wasn't the issue after all. |
