George Gently is a bit darker and I really like it.

I think the most awesome minor character in a television show I've ever seen was the Midsomer Murders where a beautiful young woman Uni student was working as a tour guide around town and just making s**t up.

Just watched the Dark Shadows movie. The biggest problem of course is that it stars Johnny Depp. But was ok to watch but nothing at all like the series that ran forever. Part of the charm of the series was the same charm that the early Dr Who's had. Bad props, poor scripts, bad acting, actors stumbling over lines because they probably couldn't afford proper rehearsal time etc. At least the movie also has Alice Copper in it.

Just watched it. I really enjoyed it and I was a big fan of the series.

I actually liked it also, I just don't like Johnny Depp. I liked the original series also but the movie and the series have little in common though.

Although those parts were filmed documentary-style, I'm pretty sure those were actors and doubt that all of them were based on real people. Some may have been actual accounts that were made but I have the feeling a lot of that was embellished but based on the townspeople and their opinions...if that makes sense.

Fairly unchallenging but good Sunday evening stuff.  We live quite close in a bigger but similar town.  Fidget who occasionally posts here did the sound for the series I think.   I am also now watching Foyles War- I saw a few of them at the time but am thoroughly enjoying the catch up.

Yeah Doc Martin is nice light entrainment.

Now I have to find something that matches the quality of Foyle's War.

I hear there is a 3 episode 7th season of FW that will air here in the states in September.  Seems DCS Foyle will join up with MI-5 catching Commies.
