Tobor the Great 1954 . My first Sci-Fi movie, first theater experience. I think I've seen around 1960, in French.... Black and white movie. Might be my first real Movie ever.

"Tobor le Robot"        http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047590/

I use BabelFish for translations. I referred to Google because I have applied for jobs with them.

I've seen ads for Rosetta Stone.

And no, not spam.

Sorry. I have this need to be precise about language.

But that doesn't mean I never make mistakes.

I visited the American cemetery in Normandy, and of course I thought of that film. The scenes that take place in the cemetery give no idea of the scope of that place. It's moving, and humbling, and I was overcome with emotion when I was there.

And I can't WAIT to see what kind of title the French are going to come up with for this. They translate some stuff (Elf became "Elfe"), don't translate other titles (Good Night, And Good Luck), and for some films with untranslatable titles, they come up with a title that conveys the "spirit" of the film ("Mary à Tout Prix", or roughly translated, "Mary, No Matter What").

The Cruise

The reviewer on the IMDB page does a pretty good job of summing this thing up.
