Another one!

"Under the proposed settlement, CSAA (California State Automobile Association) will make available $6,500,000 to distribute among policyholders who timely present valid claims. Members of the proposed class who submit a properly-completed claim form by January 31, 2012, 2012 attesting that he or she paid one or more finance charges to CSAA, and attesting to the number of policy years during which he of she paid such finances charges, will be entitled to a payment of $0.84 for each such policy for each such policy year.  Additionally, CSAA will make certain changes to its billing documents and make available on a website a payment calculator that will allow policy holders to obtain estimates of monthly and annual finance charges under CSAA's installment payment plan.  The value of these measures is at least $3,000,000.  Counsel for the proposed class is requesting an award of fees and expenses totaling $2,320,000."

CSAA is a Mutual Company, meaning that it is owned by its policyholders. Every year, at policy renewal, each policyholder is refunded his or her portion of the year's profits as a credit against their policy premiums. I would guess that the settlement will cost each policyholder much more than $0.84.
