That sounds about right, I was talking about percentage of reviewed that made the main channel not total though my overall total is only about 10% too. I chalk it up to taking out of the RP paradigm risks just to see what happens. Note to self; don't even bother with anymore Hip-Hop!
All my uploads are long shots. I mean to stretch the envelope. Carry on with hip-hop—at least you'll get the slot back quickly!
For me this was always the kiss of death to be put in review. I much prefer to be insta sorried cause at least it is instant and you get to try again, I have had songs in review for well over a year, maybe even two and it may eventually be added, but I have had a large enough sample size (around 100) that have never gone from reviewing to added to tell you the odds are not good. For the most part and all the time in my experience, it is either insta add or eventual rejection. Of course people will chime in how they have had some added after review, but I would be shocked to hear if the overall percentage of such instances is over 10%.
Mine's right around an 18% "added" rate If I round off for aborted uploads and such. Of those 41% saw time on the LRC, the rest were insta-adds.
That fraction has dropped drastically over time. Haven't had one emerge from the LRC intact in a couple of years.

8 out of 14 adds for me went through LRC. 4 of the 6 that have actually been played on the main were reviewed. The one that ended up on the all time RP favorites list polled 88% while the one that was hated by god and manbird alike and is no longer being played was one of the two that got through without any vetting by the rabble. I stopped uploading for a while when I noticed that my upload had made it onto the list and the hipster in me was mortified at being top 40. I've only slowly started again now that it's fallen back to 54 and I'm trying to be more careful this time. It has seemed to me since coming back sometime around last October or November that the uploads I've had on LRC pick up votes, yea and nay, at a much slower pace than the good old days. I blame the PSD function for this as I know its been very effective at keeping me away from the LRC. I don't really want to suggest that our votes are affecting things in some way but it may be making what was already a very deliberate process more so.
What does it mean that four of my uploads (two of our very own Pyro's band, Airheart) seem to be stuck in "reviewing"?

LRC would be great with a listen option next to each song.
This means that I do not need to make sure the song I am listening to is actually the one on top as the page does not refresh automatically... and maybe it is the next song now that is being shown on top... there's to much checking involved. So I usually open up grooveshark or youtube and listen to the songs in the current list, then vote.
Another cool thing (not sure if not already possible - but haven't found it) is the list of my votes. The song might get rejected but it would be really cool to have a list of those songs I up-voted somewhere... I don't rely 100% on this site :) but I do gather music bookmarks by voting on songs and copy them from time to time to my own notes.
Anyone think such features would be welcome?
If you send me money, i'll make sure that happens.
Grats for the reach of the eclectic dj. I just heard Jimmy Thackery and really liked it. Never heard him before...not even on RP.
I'm still running around with that ear-worm you gave me the other day. I've heard that goofy song maybe once or twice before and it always has the same effect; I run around for a week or two chanting Mr. Dobalina, Mr. Bob Dobalina...over and over. Repetitive actions trigger it to dig in again.

Been awhile since I vistited, but giving the LRC a spin for a change. I don't believe I have heard so many song in a row that I gave thumbs up to. Good Stuff, y'all. Thought I throw a few new ones up there and see what sticks myself: Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell - Chase the Feeling new 0/0 (0%) JJ Grey & Mofro - This River new 0/0 (0%) Ben Harper with Charlie Musselwhite - Get Up! new 0/0 (0%) The Sheepdogs - Ewan's Blues new 0/0 (0%) Rufus Wainwright - Respectable Dive new 0/0 (0%) Jim James - New Life new 0/0 (0%) Justin Townes Earle - Down on the Lower East Side reviewing 4/1 (80%) Graffiti6 - Goodbye Geoffrey Drake reviewing 36/2 (95%)
Does a decently up-voted song (like 98%) could still be "sorried"? Is the list merely a suggstion or does Bill or Rebecca take those votes seriously? I am quite patient with this but not sure if it really makes sense to upload anything since it is probably around a year now since my first upload.
Any chances to have a response from the hosts?
Thanks, Bartek
It can be 100% and still get sorried. Many have pulled their hair out for years around here trying to decipher how songs are actually chosen/rejected.
Basically if they like it it gets added and if they don't it doesn't.
EDIT: forget what I've just wrote :) I went further down the thread and found all the answers. Waiting for the j. day :D
Just a quick question :)
