Dear Cold Hearted Blizzard

Posted by bokey - Feb 6, 2010 - 1:39pm
Although our time together has been brief,( I somehow  never really trusted you) I want you to know that I have never experienced anything as deep as this.

 Oh sure, I've had my share of winter weather incidents.Sleet,freezing  rain, that type of thing. Hail, I've got to admit, I've got an affinity for a nice slushy.

  However, it's now clear that your interest in me is receding. Even as I type I feel you withdrawing from me despite my best efforts to have you stay.

 Hey, can I get one more  snow  job before you go?{#Lol}

Dear Bokey,

I'm really disappointed to read this.  I thought we had an understanding.  When I saw you last, you whispered batting averages, strike counts, and other sweet nothings in my ear.  We whiled away the lazy, long evenings under the hazy skies, talking about fish. You promised me I would be the only one.  You gave me that frilly white top, which I took that as a symbol of our undying relationship.

And now this.  You have been seduced by another.  Let me just say, she is a cruel mistress.  She showers you with fuzzy white stuff that settles in on your nose, only to slicken the sidewalks and driveways.  Before you know it, she will laugh at you, while your tailbone throbs.  She will promise you endless fluff, and bring you cold, dreary rain.  She will force you to hunker down in bed, wondering if the trees are going to make it through another.

You are in so much trouble, young man. Don't forget, I control the lightning and the hurricanes. What's she got? Some ice? Some starry nights?  She's also got sleet. Is that what you want, Bokey, sleet?  You're throwing me over for some sleet and freezing rain?

Hey, that's ok — I can take that.  I've been here before, and I know she has a great act, but that's all it is, an act.  They all come back to me.  You'll come back to me, mark my words, before the first pitch is thrown.  I try to be forgiving, but  don't expect to see that white top until the Nationals start contending, ok?

Signed, Summer.

I have been informed that Snowcapolypse was so.... last month. We are now in Snowmageddon... part two!

I just love the drama of the D.C. television news. They just did a live shot just outside the local Safeway in the VA burbs... the weather girl was breathlessly reporting that the Safeway was running low on orange juice!!!! {#Stop} But never fear, for although there were no more onions, a truck just delivered some so don't let that prevent you from invading the grocery store before the next snowflake falls!!!!!!!

But WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT TURN THAT CHANNEL!!!! {#Naughty}

I have been quite amused by how D.C. folks relate to this storm. Many here are calling it "Snowpocalypse".

Lots of folks in my apartment complex don't even have winter gloves, nevermind snow tires or four wheel drive. Snow shovels? What are those?

We drove around all day yesterday down in D.C. The monuments were beautiful at night and in the snow, and there was no one around. Everyone was hunkered down in their Snowpocalypse bunkers I guess.
