Just asking for advice
Posted: Jul 26, 2010 - 11:31am
Ok….I’ve decided to really try and do it.  I want to start a kayak/canoe (and maybe tube) rental business at my place.  I know what I need and I think it should be fairly easy.  I’m asking all you super geniuses out there for any tips, advice, etc you have on running a business, kayaks, canoes……you know, all that kind-of stuff.

<> <>

I’m not mentioning this on FB, because it will be the first of it’s kind on my creek.  I don’t want anyone beating me to the punch.  I’ve been talking to a guy that does the same thing, but in a different area, so I’m no threat to him and it seem to be fairly easy, not to mention the fact that he’s making a killing.

The Blues

For all my friend's that love "The Blues"

RULES FOR SINGIN THE BLUES

See if you qualify to sing the blues.

Some rules for singing the blues ...

1. Most Blues begin with: "Woke up this morning..."

2. "I got a good woman" is a bad way to begin the Blues, unless you stick something nasty in the next line like, "I got a good woman, with the meanest face in town."

3. The Blues is simple. After you get the first line right, repeat it. Then find something that rhymes - sort of: "Got a good woman with the meanest face in town. Yes, I got a good woman with the meanest face in town. Got teeth like Margaret Thatcher and she weigh 500 pound."

4. The Blues is not about choice. You stuck in a ditch, you stuck in a ditch...ain't no way out.

5. Blues cars: Chevys, Fords, Cadillacs and broken-down trucks. Blues don't travel in Volvos, BMWs, or Sport Utility Vehicles. Most Blues transportation is a Greyhound bus or a southbound

Happy Thanksgiving to me

Happy Thanksgiving to me

I went back to the cardiologist yesterday to discuss the results of all those stoopit tests I had to go through last month.

I think I’m still in shock! I have a tiny valve leak. No worries there. He says it’s not dangerous at all; that it’s from my heart being stretched out so badly. It’s ok though. My heart is the size it’s supposed to be now and has been for a long time. He said that the heart monitor report looked really good. No arrhythmias, murmurs, or anything like that.

But here’s the kicker. As many of you know, (and some of you don’t), the left side of my heart has been a concern for about 5 years now. When I went into the hospital (at age 30) it was functioning at 8%. My right was at 14%. The last time I had an echo, almost 3 years ago, the right side was normal and the left was only at 25%. Well, he informed me yesterday that the left side was up to 35%. ...

Funny Story

Or I thought it was, anyway.

So, for the past couple of weeks I've been in and out of the cardiologist's office for a few tests, etc., etc., and Thursday I had to go in for an echocardiogram and to be hooked up to a heart monitor. My mom was with me because she knows I’ll skip out on my appointments if she doesn’t come and drag me in. We were noticing a very, very nice looking man running around the office, so we sat there and googled and ooogled for and hour and a half, giggling and being silly. That’s the only way I can get through these appointments, because I am terrified of going to the doctor. Anyway, I hear my name called and it’s him. He’s the one doing the echo. Holy shit! He takes us in the room, tells me to put that stupid f*cking sheet on, (you know the one) and then he leaves for a minute. I’m about to DIE! I told mom to go get me a girl. (ha) I said, “I don’t want him to see my boobies”. Silly, I know. But, I’m bashful ...

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence;
Two roads diverged in the wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
--R. Frost

There came a time, in 1968, in California, when a young man took the road less traveled by. A road that took him from the glitz of L.A. to the hills of North Alabama, to Jacksonville, Macon, Miami, the ...

To help or not to help……….

I’m curious so help me out here. Say you are driving down the road, in a busy section of town around 5 in the afternoon. You see a 30-something guy, clean cut, dressed in nice clothing, walking down the sidewalk in a blood soaked shirt. He looks like he’s about to fall over. What do you do? I’ll explain why I’m asking in a bit, but first I want to hear from some of the Rpeeps and get some opinions. Lawd knows there are plenty of those around here. (ha) Thanks all!

Riiiiiiight! Y'all are so easy. You guys know how I am about writing, so I'll just say this: "It f*cking RAWKED the house down there" I had such a great time with my sistahs! I took 200+ pics, but I left out the one’s that involved nude frolicking and all that stuff. When things settle down around here some, I’ll try to put together an honest to goodness journal about my trip, but in the meantime……

EDIT- I'm not getting married, btw.....just thought that would make you guys look!
