Where in the world is Gyps?

To All My RP Friends -

Wow - I really feel like it's been months and months since I have talked with all of you - actually, its only been a few weeks, but being away from all of you lovely people must make the time seem longer.

The last few months have been very busy and very stressful for me. Yesterday, after many tears, long talks, and about 8 million diet cokes, it all came to an end - my employer of the past 5 years and I parted ways. I resigned my postion at a company I love dearly, owned by a man that treated me like a daughter. The decision to resign was not an easy one, but after weighing all my options and receiving a comfortable severence package, I decided to go for it. I am pretty scared but at the same time, pretty excited. I believe I am at a good place in my life to really make some poistive and needed career changes. 8O Ok, so what the hell do I want to do with myself? 8O
I guess I can't answer that. But N asked me two ...

MY NAME IS PRINCE!
Posted: Jun 21, 2004 - 7:24am
Ok - for those interested parties, here is a mini-review of my Prince experience from this last Friday.
----------------
Being that the show I attended was the third and final show of a three night stand in Prince's his home town, and on a Friday night, we were pretty excited to go.
I went with my sister, my best friend and a good friend of ours from junior high - 4 ladies ready to party like it was 1984.
He started right on time and from the opening song, Musicology (which is the title of his newest CD - everyone attending a show on the Musicology tour got a copy), I knew we were going to have so much fun. His band was incredible - horns, organs, two bass players, lead guitarist - all of them were amazing. Prince played guitar on most of the songs, but would set it down sometimes just to dance. He was warm, humble, engaging, energetic beyond belief, facinating, entrancing and just all around AWESOME. He made many references to us, his ...

Musical Nirvana (patty griffin)
Posted: May 20, 2004 - 9:52am
I have been to a lot of concerts. A LOT. However, the musical experience that I shared with my sister this past Tuesday night most certainly is at the top of my list for one of the best ever.
I love Patty Griffin. More so over the last year or so, especially after 1000 Kisses came out. I bought Flaming Red on a whim after hearing the Dixie Chicks cover Mary about 3.5 years ago. I had never heard Patty's voice, but loved the song so much, I had to hear it done by the woman who penned such a beautiful song. It took me a few spins, but as soon as I finally got it, I was blown away. I went out and bought Living with Ghosts a few days later. Since then, I have followed Patty's career and bought everything she has ever released.

On Tuesday, May 18th, my sister and I went to the Fitzgerald theatre in St Paul, MN to catch my first "solo" Patty show.

It was fabulous. She is so fabulous. There are not enough words to describe the vibe, ...

Women of Substance, Crazy Horse and World Falls
Posted: Oct 20, 2003 - 10:32am
This is not so much a journal entry as it is a summary of what I did on my vacation and the things and places I saw, done for the people who know me and are interested. I am not much a journal-er because I am a poor writer, but I am going to give it a go.

My vacation officially started last Friday, the 10th - my sister and I kicked it off with friends and I really had an awesome weekend. Lots of partying and preparation to leave for South Dakota. Good stuff.

Tuesday night, the 14th, we had 5th row seats to the Women of Substance tour, headlined by Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin and Dar Williams. I was not sure what to expect, I thought they may all do their own set, but I could not have been more wrong. They all got on stage together and stayed there. 4 chairs, 4 guitars and 4 microphones. As soon as I saw the stage set up, I got so excited!
Anyway, they all came out together, looking amazing and got right to business. It was ...
