Rolling Stones - Moonlight Mile
(Sep 27, 2012 - 08:13)
Best friends basement sitting between two speakers that were about 3 feet tall
Huge, full ashtray between us
Music blaring, her mothers high heeled footsteps above us, obviously pissed off because it was a beautiful day and we were sitting in the basement listening to 'that blasted rock and roll music'
Ahhh

Coldplay - God Put A Smile Upon Your Face

Nothing wrong with this in its context but RP - how about some of the original Ultravox (stands the test of time no problem) and for that matter John Foxx's latest work with the Maths - and whilst we're at it how come you never play anything from Magazine?  For me the best band ever.

Yes! A bit of Magazine would be appreciated

Elliott Brood - The Valley Town
(Sep 18, 2012 - 10:16)
I am from Toronto and have been a huge fan for years. If you like what you hear, there are 3 CD's each one excellent.
Do yourself a favour and see them live if you can

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

Funny, I am just reading these posts and am happy to see I am not alone in thinking we need to put this song in a vault for a while. And I couldnt agree with you more. John Cale does it best. Bar none

I agree with many opinions here. There should be a limit to how many people cover this song and how often is it played. In my opinion John Cales version is the absolute best - however if I hear it again in the next 2 years - by Mr Cale or anyone else I will scream!

I vote we stop playing this song for at least 2 years.
It is covered way too many times and while it is a beautiful song - haven't we all had enough?
Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright, John Cale, Katie Lang and of course Leonard Cohen.
All nicely done, but give it a rest
Please

Bowerbirds - Tuck the Darkness In
(Jun 03, 2012 - 07:15)
A bit like my beloved Elvis Perkins?

801 - Tomorrow Never Knows
(May 28, 2012 - 13:32)
Wow! It's been decades since I listened to this LP. I MUST get my turntable out again.
LOVE

Let's hope so

Broken Social Scene - World Sick
(Nov 18, 2011 - 13:24)
I have never understood the noise around this band. Sure, there are a lot of them and they have a full sound, but who wouldnt with 10+ people on stage. A few of them produce far more interesting music on their own than what happens collectively.
The idea is interesting, the music is not.
Yawn

R.E.M. - (don't go back to) Rockville
(Jul 04, 2011 - 14:04)
Love it! Add piano to any REM song and it is heavenly. Has me bouncing and twirling around the house
