U2 - In God's Country
(Dec 10, 2012 - 12:55)
It's obviously a God Like song.. and sorry but just too over-played for my taste....

Joan Armatrading - Love and Affection
(Dec 05, 2012 - 20:27)
Ouch.  Bit of a rough transition from Just Like Heaven...

The Derek Trucks Band - This Sky
(Nov 19, 2012 - 12:00)

The Derek Trucks Band - This Sky
(Nov 19, 2012 - 12:00)
I've always felt Derek was just a bit too rough-hewn on slide.. so not *quite* channeling Duane.  Somehow, he just doesnt' bring the depth of sorrow... but a nice turn for sure!  Who was singing?

Arctic Monkeys - That's Where You're Wrong
(Nov 11, 2012 - 23:22)
Borrowing straight out of Echo and the Bunnymen....   :-(

Grateful Dead - Scarlet Begonias
(Nov 11, 2012 - 11:49)
Nice one!  Thanks Sieversfam...   for those who get it.  :)

This may change your mind (on what the song can be, not the studio track).Check out the 5/8/77 Dead show (Cornell University).  Scarlet Begonias—->The Fire on the Mountain 25 minute masterpiece is life-changing.   Gotta crank this one up though.

Foo Fighters - Down In The Park
(Nov 01, 2012 - 13:14)
Grindy annoying grunge is not why I come here....

(Nov 01, 2012 - 13:09)
Love Bruce Cockburn!  He has the capacity to sing the soundtrack of my life.. but this song is not my fav.

The Doors - Riders On The Storm
(Oct 30, 2012 - 11:28)
Stay strong and true, NYC.

Bob Dylan - Subterranean Homesick Blues
(Aug 30, 2012 - 08:46)

Not my favorite Bruce tune.  And... he is brilliant.

The Cure - Pictures of You
(Aug 14, 2012 - 13:44)
Has soul and depth, thank you.

King Crimson - Walking On Air
(Aug 11, 2012 - 23:22)
Really doesn't get any better.  THANK YOU!

The Chieftains - Whole Heap Of Little Horses (w/Patty Griffin)
(Aug 11, 2012 - 23:20)
There are way better Chieftains songs...  this is too middle of the irish road for my taste

Rodrigo Y Gabriela - PPA
(Aug 11, 2012 - 23:19)

I like this a lot!  Groovy, with soul and purpose...  great melody.

Anna Ternheim - Fly Me to the Moon
(Aug 02, 2012 - 09:00)
Yeah, trying a little too hard to be "special"...   it's like Anna is waving a small little flag much too fervently.

Talking Heads - Life During Wartime
(Aug 02, 2012 - 08:58)
Got me dancin'!

Cracker - Euro-Trash Girl
(Aug 02, 2012 - 08:40)
Love it!  -  Good pull RP!

Robinella - Down the Mountain
(Aug 02, 2012 - 08:27)
That was kind of nice, at least here in the PST zone morning time coffee time...

King Crimson - Fallen Angel
(Jul 09, 2012 - 22:16)
I LOVE this level of thoughtful music... pleasing the soul.

Steve Earle - I Feel Alright
(Jul 09, 2012 - 21:49)
yeah, not much heart in that one...

Sivert Høyem - Give It a Whirl
(Jul 09, 2012 - 21:44)
some of the guitar riffs sound like Neil.  I like that.

Kate Bush - The Big Sky
(Jul 09, 2012 - 21:35)
giving me a headache

Bob Dylan - Like a Rolling Stone
(Jun 18, 2012 - 23:49)
p.s.
had to hit "mute" and that is sad...

Bob Dylan - Like a Rolling Stone
(Jun 18, 2012 - 23:48)
Dylan has so many gems.  This is over played, and beneath RP.  Rats.

Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night
(Jun 18, 2012 - 23:42)
Good ol' Tom doesn't have to pander to anyone...  cuz he's independently wealthy.  I'm just glad he is one of the rare, bad asses who uses it for good.  I'd party with him on any given summer night, roast a pig and let it flow

Simon & Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence
(Jun 11, 2012 - 12:37)
Sweet song, but um...   out of place here.  Still sounds pretty good, I admit.  But over-done.

Greg Brown - Two Little Feet
(May 29, 2012 - 16:28)
Greg is a true American hero!  -  Thanks for keeping if fresh, RP...  love it!

Genesis - Firth Of Fifth
(May 25, 2012 - 13:05)
Or we could say:  Music for highly-intelligent cultured people older than the current lost in angst generation.  Hmmm which is accurate?

Pink Floyd - Us And Them -> Eclipse (live)
(Apr 12, 2012 - 16:59)
Thank you Bill and RP.  This extended live version is the Cream.  Sadly, I do get tired of hearing so much "standard" Floyd (especially The Wall) - but this, this is Heaven.

Bob Dylan - It's All Over Now, Baby Blue
(Feb 24, 2012 - 11:41)
I miss you Jerry!

Arcade Fire - Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)
(Feb 10, 2012 - 12:39)
Gawd-Auughwful

Mark Knopfler - What It Is
(Feb 06, 2012 - 21:46)
I don't know it is about Knopfler's guitar... never gets me emotionally.  Too staid or something.  Oh well.. bring on Jerry!

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bad Moon Rising
(Feb 06, 2012 - 21:32)
Boring and over-played.

David Gilmour - On An Island
(Jan 23, 2012 - 13:14)
If I can feel it, I can know it.
Thanks RP for bringing the good soul vibes.
To the haters:  what no electronic clap-beat and bad hair?
No snoopdawg gold teeth?  grow up and listen to some Bach once in a while...

Michael Franti and Spearhead - I Know I'm Not Alone
(Jan 20, 2012 - 16:53)
Really awesome live shows....  A San Francisco classic, bringing his soul to the front!  Spearhead is a prophet for our times.  If you can catch him with his documentary (I'm Not Alone) - it's an excellent experience.  He came up to Sebastopol, and it was just him, his bare feet, his acoustic guitar, and the film...  a POWERFUL film, a moving Q/A session with Michael sitting on the stage of the local high school, and then a mind-blowing, heart opening live acoustic solo set.  He's our Marley...

Bob Dylan - Simple Twist Of Fate
(Jan 20, 2012 - 16:41)
Thank you.

Peter Gabriel - I Grieve
(Jan 20, 2012 - 15:59)
Love GABES!  And Tony the Stick too....

Pink Floyd - Us And Them -> Eclipse (live)
(Jan 20, 2012 - 15:29)
YYYYYYyyyeeeeaaaahhh!

Pink Floyd - Us And Them -> Eclipse (live)
(Jan 20, 2012 - 15:11)
You are obviously crazy.  Please don't jump off a cliff.  I have compassion for you.  Now relax, feel it, and enjoy...! Sjaaks wrote:

Haha, that's a HUGE PF set playing right now... Not a fan, but not a hater either........... EXCEPT for those screaming ladies.... If i hear them again i swear i'll turn down the volume, don't care if my colleagues want to listen to it or not....

Pink Floyd - Us And Them -> Eclipse (live)
(Jan 20, 2012 - 15:09)
haha!  He pulls a sure-fire crowd pleaser...    being human is human being....  Us and Them indeed.  Love it!  Saw the Floyd in Oakland and my life was forever changed...

Yoko Ono - Death Of Samantha (w/ Porcupine Tree)
(Jan 20, 2012 - 15:08)
I applaud the RP DJ's for taking the risk....  really!  Yoko was John's love... how can anyone _hate that?  Thanks RP.... keep it coming and trust us!

Yoko Ono - Death Of Samantha (w/ Porcupine Tree)
(Jan 20, 2012 - 15:06)
Was that lyric:  "It's hard to light a cigarette, When you're choking in soy"  ?? -  wow...

Solomon Burke - Fast Train
(Jan 20, 2012 - 13:35)
Why is the Rattle and Hum album cover on Solomon's song?

Solomon Burke - Fast Train
(Jan 20, 2012 - 13:32)
Yeah baby bring the soul....

The Who - Amazing Journey/Sparks
(Jan 20, 2012 - 13:02)
YES!

Keith Moon, hold my hand and let's take the Journey to Love....

R.E.M. - Fall On Me
(Jan 20, 2012 - 12:38)
Overplayed...  c'mon RP REM has some gems in their catalog...  bring it on!

U2 - With or Without You
(Jan 17, 2012 - 15:56)
Overplayed.  But one of the only songs that can be overplayed and not lose its magic.

Vieux Farka Toure - Bullet the Blue Sky
(Jan 17, 2012 - 15:51)
Very cool, I like the diversity.  Keep it up RP!

Broken Social Scene - Forced to Love
(Jan 17, 2012 - 15:00)
I kind of like Broken Social Scene, but this song sound AWFUL.

Camel - Rajaz
(Jan 17, 2012 - 14:28)
Having seen both Andrew and DG, the comparison stands.  Both profoundly emotional players.
I applaud RP for taking this out and dusting it off!  Very nice, moving, mellow afternoon sounds rich with feeling and precision.
Bravo!

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Pride and Joy
(Jan 11, 2012 - 23:27)
Another boring commercial, over-layed tune from the RP dj's, who are beholden to...?  Nabisco or some sh*t?

Robin Trower - Day of The Eagle
(Dec 16, 2011 - 13:46)
 Propayne wrote:   Yeah!
"In City Dreams" is a great late night album.

Me thinks.

Jerry Garcia - Bird Song
(Dec 12, 2011 - 22:03)
This is a beautiful, emotional live Dead song....  sometimes played at a lower tempo which I loved even more.  Dead to the core!

Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond
(Dec 12, 2011 - 21:30)
overplayed.  finally, boring.

Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing
(Nov 23, 2011 - 10:35)
Here we go again.  Gosh, its the RP AM DJ crew!  Hey let's hear some songs that are so overplayed they make our audience puke!  That's creativity, right?

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
(Nov 07, 2011 - 13:39)
Another pop song.  I mean, of course its great... just SOOO overplayed on FM radio.  The RP dj's can do better...  do you agree?

Traffic - Many A Mile To Freedom
(Sep 13, 2011 - 18:55)
I love the heart and soul of this kind of music!

Steely Dan - Rikki Don't Lose That Number
(Sep 11, 2011 - 13:22)
Again with the AM Radio choices... how many times have you heard Rikki Don't Lose That Number in your life?  Jiminy....  lame

Cat Stevens - Miles from Nowhere
(Sep 11, 2011 - 11:37)
Sometimes I get tired of RP playing these "classic hits" so much...  if you're going to play cat stevens, dig deeper.  Damn this isn't AM radio, is it?

Arctic Monkeys - That's Where You're Wrong
(Aug 30, 2011 - 15:50)
Borrowing substantially from Echo and the Bunnymen!

Stevie Wonder - Superstition
(Jul 15, 2011 - 01:25)
Go DEEPER into B Sides for Stevie!  Dang this AM Radio tendency.... we are NOT clones here people.  Lil' Stevie Wonder Rules.

John Hiatt - Cry Love
(Jul 12, 2011 - 22:12)
EEEE-GADS WHAT IS THIS AM RADIO HOUR?
3 very marginal songs in a row... later I'm heading to Pandora.

Tracy Chapman - Talkin' Bout a Revolution
(Jul 12, 2011 - 22:07)
AM RADIO AGAIN.

Bob Marley - One Love
(Jul 12, 2011 - 22:05)
come on man.... is this AM radio or WHAT?

Love ya Bob, really do.  But JAH RHASTA this is too much!

Van Morrison - Moondance
(Jul 12, 2011 - 00:10)
Sorry but RP can do better... this may be "timeless" etc. but deeeaymn how many times has this song pounded my ear drums?  its like one of the most popular songs of all time on the radio... not paradise in my book.

Paul Weller - I Walk On Gilded Splinters
(May 11, 2011 - 11:50)
Whoa!  was that Vinyl skipping on my ears!?

Redlight King - Old Man
(May 09, 2011 - 12:02)
THANK YOU, RP for taking a chance and stretching out your offers!
Neil is a personal HERO and its a total coup! for RP to let us in on his one and only first authorized Sample.. very very cool keep it up!

Bob Dylan - Like a Rolling Stone
(Apr 18, 2011 - 23:58)
Yes yes love it and yet... and yet...  I'm here on RP because the I hope the DJ's have a deeper knowledge than propping up the sure-win tunes.  I am a big Dylan fan, and sadly I'm tired of hearing this song after so many years.  Bring on the Sad Eyed Lady of the Low Lands, eh.

Grant Lee Buffalo - Dixie Drug Store
(Mar 22, 2011 - 22:02)
Reminds me of Lou Reed.. but he tanked it at the end and lost the deep grind.
