Yes, she was very talented. She recorded a version of the song Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow for one of the Bridget Jones movies. When co-writer Gerry Goffin heard her version, he was so moved he cried.
i agree with several of the comments below. I absolutely LOVE the Old 97's, but this song just isn't their best. Sorta boring and formulaic— in my meager opinion But please play more Old 97's in general— yay!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Old 97's!! I agree that RP needs to play a lot more of them. Also, they're one of the BEST live acts you'll ever have the pleasure to see
ABSOLUTELY! I love this ablum so much, too. My dad has it and plays it every sunday announcing "time to go to church!" heh... Not that my dad has ever gone to church in his life, but listening to this record while rocking on the porch is spiritual for him :)
Talk Talk is great. They really rise above a lot of other 80's stuff that hasn't aged as well. And the singer's voice is always so instantly recognizable and cool
LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!!! I could listen to it everyday and never get tired . So many great memories, and a wonderful feeling/ energy coming out of the sound~
This is probably Lucinda's best album. The song "Drunken Angel" off this disc is partially about Townes Van Zandt, who was an old and dear friend to her and the other half of "The Twang Trust", Steve Earle.
If you like your rock and roll "Dixie Fried", this album is for you.
I think John Hiatt is great! I dont' understand why so many people get off on writing dumb, super-negative stuff on this board. If it's not for you, no prob, just give it a low rating. I don't love everything on RP, but I sure dig most of it! And John HIatt is an artist lots of people DO like very much
i don't love every waits song I hear, but this one made me run to the RP site to find out the title and album! maybe it's the saw? is that a saw?? ha~ anywayz, great tune
hey, good timing...I've been wanting to cehck this band out. Thanks RP for continuing to expose me to interesting new sounds as well as playing some old faves! :)
i first heard this one on RP and downloaded it that day. Since then I've listened to it like 100 times. Thanks for turning me on to another great song Bill!!
never heard of this band or this song-- but it totally made me prick up my ears and run over to the computer to see who it was. DIG IT! thanks for continually introducing me to good music bill!
And all the flamers amaze me. They aren't worth responding to, leave it at that. The rest of us will just go right on knowing how much we lost with that helicopter crash. I heard him play Voodoo Chile last friday on an Austin FM station, my fav SRV song of all time, and I just had to go right in and listen to all 5 live recordings I have of it. It's good enough for me and I don't give a rat's ass what any of you idiots say. He was the best there was and Double Trouble were the perfect mirror to reflect his light.
the best thing about Pink Floyd was my dad unfolding the Dark Side of the Moon album cover and putting it behind our family fish aquarium when i was a kid to create a psychedelic background for our fish!
man, great song... whether coasting down the road in my home state of TX, dancing the night away at Coney Island High in NYC, or rocking out here in the middle of a work day, this song is always a fun and welcome delight.
all you haters below clearly haven't had the good fortunate to be driving out to the lake with the top down and had this song come on. It's an awesome driving song and always makes me feel great (and nostalgic) when I hear it.
Who can forget Cruise and Rebecca DeMornay on the Chicago El as this sublimely atmospheric piece fills the soundtrack? It also reminds me of my time living in NYC. Hardly gets more evocative than this.
ABSOLUTELY! couldn't agree more. What a surprise to turn on RP and here this... very cool indeed.
Ugh. I lived in Texas for 22 years.. and I still don't like this kind of music.
well I'm a texan transplant who's been living in NYC for 10 years, and it really makes me happy to hear some SRV! Ya sure don't get any on the local stations around here. THANKS BILL!
I'm a Texan now living in NYC (where the sky really is crying today) and just LOVE all the SRV I get to haer on Radio Paradise!! Thanks so much to R.P. for making me feel right back at home...

I have to give a big thanks to RP (yet again) for introducing (or in this case, re-introducing) me to great artists. This song is so great-- i love it! ran right out and got the album.
Thanks so much RP for introducing me to the music of Jesse Cook! I've bought his album, Vertigo, for myself and just about everyone I know-- we all adore it!
