Fort Minor - Where'd You Go (w/ Holly Brook)
(May 02, 2006 - 10:16)
Thought this was way cool. Not a big fan of the genre, but this was quite listenable. Intelligent rap, excellent vocal breaks, nice beat. What's not to like? Unless you have an "all rap music sucks" mindset, of course. Oh well, musical taste is all opinion, anyway.
Of Montreal - I Was Never Young
(Apr 14, 2006 - 08:21)
A friend of mine turned me on to these guys a few weeks ago. This is a massively addictive CD. A lot of the little production flourishes & arrangements that seemed over-the-top quirky really start to work nicely once you've heard them a few times. Highly recommended.
Supergrass - Fin

Does anyone know anything about the inspiration for the Album title?

Rouen is a city in France. I assume it's a bit of bilingual wordplay. Kind of like bilingual foreplay, but not as French.
Sinéad O'Connor - Downpressor Man

I was really hoping the 1 I gave this would drop the overall rating

Might balance out my 9.
Imogen Heap - Have You Got It In You?
(Dec 02, 2005 - 11:47)
Could she be any cooler?
Sons & Daughters - Red Receiver

Pippin and Merry have put out an album with the Violent Femmes. Wow!

Like this a lot. It's got that "deliberatly rough-edged" indie thing going on (not a big turn-on for me normally), but a quality tune.
Sons & Daughters - Dance Me In
(Nov 08, 2005 - 09:29)
Am I the only one who thought this was a nicely rockin' little tune?
Jeff Beck - A Day In The Life

But it's a really, really nice elevator :-). With great music.

Lamer than lame.
Michael Penn - No Myth (acoustic)

This isn't the version from the album. This is very nice, but the album version had a bit more "pep" to it. Love to hear that one too sometime.
Jimi Hendrix - 1983.. (A Merman I Should Turn To Be)
(Sep 14, 2005 - 16:27)
Doesn't get any better than this...
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Shuffle Your Feet
(Sep 14, 2005 - 16:27)
Excellent!! Love their new sound.
David Gilmour - There's No Way Out Of Here
(Sep 14, 2005 - 16:26)
Omigod. I haven't heard this for a decade or two. I always thought it was a Floyd song & went nuts at one point trying to find it. Thanks, RP!!!
Death Cab For Cutie - Soul Meets Body
(Sep 14, 2005 - 16:25)
First track I've heard from the new CD. Really nice!
