Crosby Stills Nash & Young - Woodstock (Dec 17, 2006 - 17:35) | I was looking for Joni's version of this song the other day, on-line. I found several versions, but could not find the one that was made popular on the radio way back when. Anyone know where I can find it?
I agree CSNY did a fantastic job with it.

Go back to your Britney Spears then. Or is it Ashlee Simpson?
You are so insightful! How did you know my two favorite artists based solely on my opinion about this one song? Quite astonishing.

Honest? In what way is this dishonest?
My initial reaction was, "oh no, this is going to bring back some bad bible school memories". But then, it was so delicate and heartfelt.

Darn! I thought that case was closed decades ago with Bob Dylan and Neil Young.
Hey, you forgot Mick Jagger...one of the worst singers to ever make it huge. Don't believe me? Just go have another listen to Ruby Tuesday.

Gordon Lightfoot - The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald (Nov 10, 2006 - 18:04) | When I was a young boy scout, away at summer camp for the first time 25-30 years ago, I listened to my transistor radio after lights out. One night I forgot to turn the radio off. I woke up in the middle of the night just as this song was kicking off. It was the most mysterious thing for a young lad to hear in the wee hours with no one else awake. Hearing it always transports me back to that strange and memorable night. A little corny, I know, but true.

Neko Case - Dirty Knife (Apr 04, 2006 - 17:27) | I like her stuff, but it strikes me that she has a tendency to sing just slightly off key. I noticed it on this one, and also on Deep Red Bells. Now maybe it's my ear and not her voice at all. Anybody else hear this?
Edit:
Just heard the track "Star Witness", and I hear it on that one too. Sorry if I'm being too critical.

Beth Orton - Pieces of Sky (Mar 31, 2006 - 18:26) | I like Beth (was introduced to her here), and I like this song after the first hearing. Will need to hear it again before adding my rating. Forlorn maybe, but that doesn't have to be bad. It's a mood, and moods of all kinds make for good musical themes.

The singer's accent kind of reminds me of Arnold Horshack.
Yep, I hear it too..."Mis-ter Kot-tare!!" equally irritating, I might add.

White Stripes - Seven Nation Army (Feb 08, 2006 - 18:05) | olsaltybastard wrote: Really good song, but they need to find a better drummer!! His timing is WAY off and totally ruins the way the song builds.
While shopping for a drummer they oughta keep their eye out for a vocalist. Doesn't matter how clever the lyrics, how sublime the instrumentation, if the singer can't stay on key, I am not going to enjoy it.
