Ma Muse - On The One
(Aug 26, 2010 - 14:13)
Reminds me... Bill, maybe put some "Mountain Man" on RP? They are damn good too.

Great Lake Swimmers - Pulling on a Line
(Jul 24, 2010 - 11:38)
Influenced by Lou Barlow and Folk Implosion. Really like it.

Shawn Colvin - This Must Be the Place [Naive Melody]
(Jun 24, 2010 - 14:02)
I just turned off RP and put on the original.

Swati - Blackjack

Agreed... needs to be taken down a couple of notches.

Show of Hands - Roots
(Mar 24, 2009 - 02:49)
Lead singer voice/style and lyrics reminds me of Stuart Davis.

The Republic Tigers - Buildings and Mountains
(Nov 16, 2008 - 02:54)
Reminds me of Duran, Duran's "Save a Prayer".

Laurie Anderson - Let X=X
(Oct 03, 2008 - 22:17)
My favorite on this album is "Born, Never Asked" — her violin is great.

Andrew Bird - Tables And Chairs
(Sep 22, 2008 - 18:23)
Sounds like he's trying to sound like Rufus Wainwright...

Joe Henry - Time Is A Lion
(Sep 15, 2008 - 00:08)
Works with Madonna quite a bit — since he's married to her sister.

Gomez - Revolutionary Kind
(Aug 11, 2008 - 22:38)

Cat Power - Ramblin' (Wo)Man
(Jul 21, 2008 - 20:27)
A friend of mine was working a show of her's in Seattle. He's a big fan who thinks she has an amazing voice. He got up the gall to knock on her dressing room to talk to her.

He opened the door and started to say "I just want to tell you I think you have a beautiful..." and before he could finish, she turned around and yell at him: "WHAT!? VA-GI-NA!?!"

He quickly left...
Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton - Doctor Blind
(Jul 21, 2008 - 03:39)

Sounds like Fiona Apple.

The milk's gone bad! I'm Rick James!
Alanis Morissette - Citizen Of The Planet
(Jul 08, 2008 - 21:20)
Sorry God, but this is no good. I guess you are not all powerful.

The worst part is her voice. And the song. And the music.
Air - Alone In Kyoto
(May 22, 2008 - 15:14)
Reminds me of music playing SimCity.

He does lots of producing. He is masterful on the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack.
Tina Dico - Nobody's Man
(Jun 20, 2006 - 20:57)
I wish Bill would give us five "extremely negative" ratings to use once a year -- something like a -10.

I would use one of those on this song.
Tina Dico - Nobody's Man

Modest Mouse - Ocean Breathes Salty
(Aug 16, 2005 - 19:15)
Lyrics for anyone interested:

Your body may be gone, I'm gonna carry you in.
In my head, in my heart, in my soul.
And maybe we'll get lucky and we'll both live again.
Well I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Don't think so.

Well that is that and this is this.
You tell me what you want and I'll tell you what you get.
You get away from me. You get away from me.
Collected my belongings and I left the jail.
Well thanks for the time, I needed to think a spell.
I had to think awhile. I had to think awhile.

The ocean breathes salty, won't you carry it in?
In your head, in your mouth, in your soul.
And maybe we'll get lucky and we'll both grow old.
Well I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I hope so.

Well that is that and this is this.
You tell me what you want and I'll tell you what you get.
You get away from me. You get away from me.
Collected my belongings and I left the jail.
Well thanks for the time, I needed to think a spell.
I had to think awhile. I had to think awhile.

Well that is that and this is this.
Will you tell me what you saw and I'll tell you what you missed,

when the ocean met the sky.
You missed when time and life shook hands and said goodbye.
When the earth folded on itself.
And said "Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell
are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath."
You wasted life, why wouldn't you waste death?
You wasted life, why wouldn't you waste death?

The ocean breathes salty, won't you carry it in?
In your head, in your mouth, in your soul.
The more we move ahead the more we're stuck in rewind.
Well I don't mind. I don't mind. How the hell could I mind?

Well that is that and this is this.
You tell me what you want and I'll tell you what you get.
You get away from me. You get away from me.

Well that is that and this is this.
Will you tell me what you saw and I'll tell you what you missed,

when the ocean met the sky.
You wasted life, why wouldn't you waste the afterlife?

R.E.M. - Find The River
(Dec 17, 2003 - 23:20)
Lyrics for anyone interested:

Find the River (Berry/Buck/Mills/Stipe)

Hey now, little speedyhead,
The read on the speedmeter says
You have to go to task in the city
Where people drown and people serve
Don't be shy. Your just deserve
Is only just light years to go

Me, my thoughts are flower strewn
Ocean storm, bayberry moon
I have got to leave to find my way
Watch the road and memorize
This life that pass before my eyes
Nothing is going my way

The ocean is the river's goal,
A need to leave the water knows
We're closer now than light years to go

I have got to find the river,
Bergamot and vetiver
Run through my head and fall away
Leave the road and memorize
This life that pass before my eyes
Nothing is going my way

There's no one left to take the lead,
But I tell you and you can see
We're closer now than light years to go
Pick up here and chase the ride
The river empties to the tide
Fall into the ocean

The river to the ocean goes,
A fortune for the undertow
None of this is going my way
There is nothing left to throw
Of Ginger, lemon, indigo,
Coriander stem and rose of hay
Strength and courage overrides
The privileged and weary eyes
Of river poet search naivete
Pick up here and chase the ride
The river empties to the tide
All of this is coming your way
