Pearl Jam - Inside Job
(Jun 18, 2007 - 12:16)
I swear the music sounds just like a Mad Season song I've heard before. McCready was in both bands, so maybe I'm not imagining things.
Bob Marley - War
(May 31, 2007 - 12:12)
RADIO • PARADISE

More Reggae per set than any other station :(

Bob Marley - Get Up, Stand Up
(May 30, 2007 - 08:05)
Darn that cool set ended. I feel bad for not being a Marley fan. My fiancee loves them because they remind her of summer, but to me it just sounds monotonous.
The High Violets - Love Is Blinding
(May 30, 2007 - 08:01)
This was a nice flow from Hooverphonic. I actually thought it was a different song by the same band. I like this tune. It has a nice 60's feel while remaining modern and upbeat.
R.E.M. - Bittersweet Me
(May 30, 2007 - 07:48)
Has anyone else had these lyrics go through your head during a break-up?

"I'd sooner chew my leg off.."
The Frames - When Your Minds Made Up
(May 30, 2007 - 07:26)
This voice and talky style of singing are kind of annoying.
Morcheeba - Let Me See
(May 30, 2007 - 07:16)
I saw this band in Chapel Hill in the late 90's. It was at the Cat's Cradle with a tightly packed crowd. Someone threw a joint on stage and Morcheeba lived up to its name.

Honestly, Skye has an amazing stage presence and the band is down to Earth. I think the keyboardist was trying to go home with my roommate at the time. (though he wasn't a regular part of the band)
Los Lobos - Malaque
(May 29, 2007 - 07:42)
I don't know why, but I am just not a fan of this type of music. I should probably tune in a bit later in the day when the playlist picks up.
Soundgarden - Fell On Black Days
(May 25, 2007 - 15:14)
One of the best songs ever written. I am singing along with in now, which means I am killing perfection...
John Anderson - Seminole Wind
(May 25, 2007 - 11:57)
I used to sing this song aloud through my nose each time it played on the radio. I am not a big country fan but I really like it.
Lizzie West - Chariots Rise
(May 25, 2007 - 11:50)
I see the "more from this artist" above, but where the "less from this artist" button?
Lizzie West - Chariots Rise
(May 25, 2007 - 11:48)
Natalie Merchant wants her voice back.
Ramasutra - Magma Mama
(May 25, 2007 - 11:43)
I'm not really into this weird bouncy song at all. It is an incongruent mess.
Beth Orton - Stolen Car
(May 25, 2007 - 10:32)
This song has been a part of my diet for years.
Simon & Garfunkel - Mrs. Robinson
(May 23, 2007 - 13:10)
Here's to you Misses Robinson.
Imogen Heap - The Walk
(May 23, 2007 - 10:53)
You should take any opportunity you have to see Imogen live. It was an excellent experience.
Nick Drake - One Of These Things First
(May 23, 2007 - 09:01)
The wikipedia article on Drake is kind of interesting:

Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2)
(May 23, 2007 - 08:51)
Wow, has this really not been played since August 2005?
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - All You Do Is Talk
(May 23, 2007 - 08:50)
That wasn't too bad at all.
Massive Attack - Angel
(May 18, 2007 - 14:13)
I saw this group back in the 90s. It was an excellent show. I still have my little Massive Attack button they gave me outside of the show.
Supergrass - Can't Get Up
(May 18, 2007 - 13:34)

I need to get internet for my car. This stuff just doesn't get any rotation on the air.

Why? This would rock on the airwaves.

Thanks RP!

Stream the previous day of RP to an MP3 file and go portable.
The White Stripes - The Denial Twist
(May 18, 2007 - 13:21)
Excellent. He is one of a few original people that dwell in the mainstream, even if he is channeling Zeppelin.
Jon Hopkins - Second Sense (w/ Imogen Heap)
(May 10, 2007 - 14:19)

I thought I heard Immi. Even with her help, this is ho hum.

Immi's songs are much more interesting musically. They actually go somewhere. This song stays in the same place from start to finish.

I think it is one of those songs that is meant to ascend spiritually... at least for me.

I imagine an ancient river, and a slow flow through a mystic wood.
Jon Hopkins - Second Sense (w/ Imogen Heap)
(May 10, 2007 - 14:11)
Excellent transition from Singing Winds, Crying Beasts.
Santana - Singing Winds, Crying Beasts
(May 10, 2007 - 14:08)
A storm is on the horizon here, and this song is playing it in.
The Police - Wrapped Around Your Finger
(May 10, 2007 - 14:03)
This is the beach. Warm toes, beautiful girl, and an endless horizon.
Greg Kihn - Remember
(May 10, 2007 - 14:00)
Never heard this before but I like it.
Tangerine Dream - Love on a Real Train
(May 10, 2007 - 13:46)
This is the original pimp song...
Beck - Think I'm In Love
(May 10, 2007 - 13:42)
This album has the most coherent Beck lyrics ever.
Spoon - The Book I Write
(May 10, 2007 - 13:39)
LOL for a second there I thought the opening to this song was the McDonald's theme song..

"Ba Da Dat Dat Dah... I'm love'n it."

I was like, oh no's, RP has gone commercial.
Hooverphonic - Inhaler
(May 10, 2007 - 13:14)
Below is my favorite Hooverphonic song. It goes out to the girl I pined over for six years, and lost when I told her how I felt in Central Park...

Thank God i found someone so wonderful now.

Out of Sight:

Tell me why
Do you always forgive the things I do to you
You're too good
Or am I not too bad
Those six years
Were the best that ever happened to me and you
No regrets after all this fear
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
So tell me why
I can't find any satisfaction somewhere else
Not good enough
Or am I way too bad
Cause those six years
I consumed all your energy
And I didn't replace
Sad enough
I can't give you what you need
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
Six years
Such a long time
I can't give you what you need
Six years
Such a long time
Something special between you and me
You and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me

SUCH a great album! I'd love to hear "2 Wicky"

Good call.
Hooverphonic - Inhaler
(May 10, 2007 - 13:10)
I digs me some Hooverphonic. She taught my heart how to love.
Sarah McLachlan - Plenty

Now if I can just find the appropriate NIN song for the wedding...

"Bow down before the one you serve" ;)

LOL we thought about Head Like a Hole but wasn't sure what the Polka crowd would do. We might opt for something a bit more mellow from the Fragile I guess...
Sarah McLachlan - Plenty
(May 10, 2007 - 13:06)
The last time I saw Sarah she was on a commercial for the ASPCA. Before that it was in a small town concert where she blew me away.

I think we're going to cop for the Icecream song at our wedding next year... I know... but it was the only place to fit her in.

Now if I can just find the appropriate NIN song for the wedding...
Dave Brubeck Quartet - Blue Rondo a la Turk
(May 10, 2007 - 12:55)
This song makes me wish I could play a musical instrument. Beautiful jazz.
Poe - Control
(May 10, 2007 - 12:39)
Poe is definitely talented as a writer, but her voice does this Garbage-esque thing that is too familiar with each song. There isn't much range in her vocals so too much Poe can bring the monotony.
The Sisters of Mercy - Lucretia My Reflection
(May 10, 2007 - 12:37)
Any song with evil laughter and an 80's beat gets a thumbs up from me.
Toots & The Maytals - Pressure Drop (w/ Eric Clapton)
(May 10, 2007 - 12:29)
I think someone just tooted this song if you know what I mean.
Herbie Hancock - Cantaloupe Island
(May 10, 2007 - 12:23)
Groovy groovy
jazzy funky pounce bounce dance as we
Dip in the melodic
sea, the rhythm keeps flowin, it drips to MC
Sweet sugar pop
sugar pop rocks it pops ya dont stop
Till the sweet
beat drops
I show and prove
as a stick in move
Hear the poems
recited on top of the groove
Smooth, mind,
floating like a butterfly
Notes start to
float, suttle like a lullabye
Brace yourself as
the beat hits ya
Dip trip, flip
fantasia

Buffalo Springfield - Broken Arrow
(May 10, 2007 - 12:21)
redtex wrote:

Mebbe you're too busy thinkin' bout muppets!

I just feel like five songs have been crammed into one. The vocals are good but the music and incontinuity throws me off to the song. Just my opinion though.
Buffalo Springfield - Broken Arrow
(May 10, 2007 - 12:17)
For some reason I imagine a band of muppets playing this song. I don't know why. Maybe Jim Henson covered this, but when the beat is slow I imagine a monster-muppet banging on the drums.

This song seems to not have any continuity to it.
Radiohead - Street Spirit (Fade Out)
(May 10, 2007 - 12:12)
This is excellent when you are feeling your place in the world and lamenting a decision.
The Dandy Warhols - Bohemian Like You
(May 10, 2007 - 11:54)

Sometimes those emoticons hit just the right beat.
The Dandy Warhols - Bohemian Like You
(May 10, 2007 - 11:52)
I like the Dandy Warhols and how they parody L.A. life.
Silversun Pickups - Three Seed
(May 10, 2007 - 11:51)
Not bad. Nice and mellow but it keeps moving.
Johray63 - Check the Brakes
(Apr 26, 2007 - 12:59)
This song just caused me to turn off the radio.
Bob Marley - Small Axe
(Apr 24, 2007 - 10:36)
Wow, no comments since 2003.

My fiancee likes Marley poolside, but I find it monotonous and unimaginative while I am working.
Coldplay - Green Eyes
(Apr 24, 2007 - 10:29)
This ColdPlay song sounded as if it was lifted from Mazzy Star.
Crosby Stills Nash & Young - Everybody I Love You
(Mar 09, 2007 - 12:17)
This is where Chris Cornell learned to sing... er um.. I'm guessing.. sorry
Peter Gabriel - Kiss That Frog
(Mar 09, 2007 - 11:55)
This song should have its own 80's movie. I imagine this as a song form the movie Mannequin or some Breakfast Club'ish movie.
Alice In Chains - Don't Follow
(Mar 07, 2007 - 13:20)
We need more music from AIC. I saw them with the new singer and they weren't too bad at all.

Apparently the bootlegger sat behind me because you can hear me on the bootleg yelling, "Bleed the Freak!"
Engineers - Waved On
(Mar 07, 2007 - 13:12)

Baby, what a poor set!!!

Bedridden Robert Zimmerman (let's be serious and objective), empty Moby, Devo, Mazy Star and The Vines!!! Wahoooo...

But here comes "music with soul" again with The Melodians and Little Richard.

THX, RP!

For a second there I thought you were predicting the future. I think we're in the same set now, but I doubt the soul music is going to play this time around.

Gotta say I like the harmony on this song. A good harmony gets me everytime.
Mazzy Star - Fade Into You
(Mar 07, 2007 - 13:06)
This reminds me of staying up late with my friends and listening to Mazzy Star and Portishead until we drunk ourselves to sleep.
Cold War Kids - We Used To Vacation
(Mar 07, 2007 - 12:55)
littleRoom wrote:

exactly what i was thinking, this song sounds just like the stripes, but not nearly as good. Now, when are we getting a new album from mr white?

He's probably still touring with the Raconteurs. Their album didn't turn out too well, but Steady as She Goes is a great song.
Moby - Extreme Ways
(Mar 07, 2007 - 12:54)
Not that great of a Moby song.
Cold War Kids - We Used To Vacation
(Mar 07, 2007 - 12:50)
This song sounds better when Jack White does it. This clone might not make it out of the gate.
Morcheeba - The Sea
(Mar 07, 2007 - 12:18)
I saw this band live about 10 years ago and they were excellent. They sound even better in person. The vocalist even smokeD a doobie from the audience.
Jeff Beck - Rollin' And Tumblin'
(Mar 07, 2007 - 10:45)
I saw Imogen Heap live last year and it was one hell of a show. She was with Kid Beyond, and he beatboxed while she played/sang. The whole band rocked and you could feel the energy.

She is going to be a legend one day.
XTC - Dear God
(Mar 06, 2007 - 07:41)

Morals are transcendent in nature. That is, they do not emanate from physical reality. They are apart from physical reality. If there is nothing beyond the physical reality of the chemicals squirting around in our heads, the illusion of consciousness does not give rise to a basis for morals. If there is no Will acting, but only the chemical sum of previous causes, then there is nothing for morals to judge. Morals presume a Will and the ability to choose. Without a God, there is no Will upon which to ultimately predicate them. Morality implies judgment of choices, either before the act is performed or afterwards.

Excellent comments.
