Fink - This Is The Thing (Nov 26, 2012 - 13:12) | Great to hear Fink on RP, thanks Bill! Totally recommend his album ''Perfect Darkness''

SuperHeavy - Mahiya (Nov 13, 2011 - 10:25) | I'm really not into hating but this one made me change the station really quickly. It's just too lame.
Phoenix - Rome (Sep 05, 2011 - 15:09) | This is probably one of the most uplifting and positive albums i have. Enjoyed best on a carefree sunny day..
Bonobo - Eyesdown (Feb 26, 2011 - 07:07) | Rotterdam wrote: I like Bonobo and I like this song - except for the fact that the sound volume fades in and out. Which makes me feel violent, for some reason. Not the emotion I would normally associate with Bonobo's music.
I'd be careful about expressing violent urges online.. Oh and excellent album by the way, one of my top 5 of 2010.
The Verve - Lucky Man (Feb 16, 2011 - 00:17) | Timeless song, sounds just as good now as when i was a teenager.
Pink Floyd - Coming Back To Life (Sep 21, 2010 - 11:56) | lewie221 wrote: Remarkable - the first note of this and the last note of the Cure's "The Walk" are exactly the same, making a seamless segue.
Who knew? (Apart from Bill, of course.)
Yep, that was some fine bridging!
Pink Floyd - Coming Back To Life (Sep 21, 2010 - 11:54) | We played this song on huge speakers in the southern desert of Israel, on an improvised camping site after a sleepless night of drinking, as the sun was rising. Great moment inspired by a beautiful PF song!
Thompson Twins - Lay Your Hands (Sep 07, 2010 - 09:54) | I've already changed the station while i'm writing this comment................................................................................................................................................................................................................ Ok i changed it back, song is over!

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Beat The Devil's Tattoo (Jun 22, 2010 - 11:32) | vandal wrote: I echo your message Fred; second listen yielded a strong bond with this CD. . .
How long did the cycle in your post take? :) Some good albums take even longer than 2 listens for them to really kick in.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Beat The Devil's Tattoo (Jun 22, 2010 - 11:28) | Shesdifferent wrote: Horrible...between this and Emmylou Harris's previous song its like nails on a chalk board...make it stop!
Like nails on a chalkboard..? Sounds like a proper rock song!
Peter Gabriel - Love To Be Loved (Apr 03, 2010 - 12:34) | Way way too much Peter Gabriel on RP lately. He's one of the very few artists of whom my opinion actually worsened after i've started listenning to RP.
Sade - Soldier Of Love (Feb 28, 2010 - 09:28) | Somehow what was charming in the 80s, sounds a bit more tricky to pull off today.. I mean, Soldier of Love ?
Neil Young - Dont Let It Bring You Down (Jan 02, 2010 - 12:05) | fredriley wrote: Oh, that voice! Goes through my brain like hot cheesewire. Kudos to yer man Young as a songwriter but his voice is like nails on a blackboard.
I agree, i respect him as an artist but his voice is just intolerable!

Boy On A Dolphin - Nouwe O N'Mazei (Dec 26, 2009 - 01:48) | MM13 wrote: Total muzak. I feel sorry for the dolphin.
Indeed! This just sounds like the song from that xfactor guy that got beaten by Rage Against the Machine. It's these kind of songs that make me switch to another station.
Dirty Vegas - Days Go By (Nov 27, 2009 - 08:28) | This particular song is really quite mediocre but double-cheers for the musical diversity! (and a big BOO on all those who get scared from a bit of house, dont be so narrow minded)
The Church - Under The Milky Way (Sep 19, 2009 - 09:39) | Totally agree about the string theory - sounds like a great idea to me: universe (or multiverse) as musical. WayUpNorth wrote: peter_james_bond wrote:Astronomers recently discovered that the Milky Way is 50% bigger than previously thought. We really know very little about the universe. I personally don't believe in Dark Matter or the Big Bang theory. There are alternative theories and there is evidence to back up those theories, however mainstream scientists ignore that evidence and do back flips to fit their own observations into the current dogmatic thinking. That's my rant for the day. I love this song.
I think it's a great time to talk about String Theory — I just love the idea of everything being made up of invisible "strings" vibrating at their own unique frequency — maybe that's why music is so deeply moving.

R.E.M. - Leave (Aug 17, 2009 - 10:07) | Wow, how come im the first one to comment on this pretty old song? Loved this song on the album but maybe now i kinda prefer the less noisy version.
Tatiana - Surovi Trisky (Apr 17, 2009 - 11:40) | alezz_ua wrote:Yes you right. I know them Anyway, if current song brought you some of pleasant memories - it worth being played.
So many comments on one song? Wow alezz, can you be any more excited about a song in your own language on a non-ukranian radio? I def love Bill's experementations tho, keep it up!
Calexico - Two Silver Trees (Feb 19, 2009 - 12:31) | Thanx a lot to Bill and Radio Paradise for letting me discover this great band! The project of the spanish guy who sings with them, called Depedro is also very much worth checking out.
When i'll stop being a student and earn some money - i'll be sure to donate to RP, i swear!
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California (Feb 17, 2009 - 09:35) | Oscar_the_Grouch wrote: Puttin' in another Grouchy 10 to counter the ignorant and the haters. Go back to listening to your Clearchannel Classic Rock(tm) station.
Totally agreed, what the hell is the average age of RP listeners, 50? RHCP rock, including this song!!
U2 - No Line on the Horizon (Feb 16, 2009 - 10:00) | First i didnt even recognize that its U2 and then i thought that it must be some b-side from the early materials.. couldnt be more wrong as it turns out!
Pearl Jam - Alive (Feb 07, 2009 - 05:34) | Yehe, aha! My favorite song from the Grundge period!
Delerium - Stopwatch Hearts (Jan 12, 2009 - 04:24) | Sweeet tune, who's the singer? She sounds familiar. Actually this doesnt sound like Delerium at all..
Crowded House - Weather With You (Jan 10, 2009 - 08:04) | gjeeg wrote: wOOdfaCe If you don't hear this album as transcendly accomplished, creative, melodic, inspired and rare, then you should not be allowed to listen to music. One of the greatest albums I have ever heard and I am 52 years old and heard it all.
Wow.. so you think that age has to do a lot with musical literacy? Perhaps i should ask my 83 year old grandma what she thinks about the latest minimal techno compilation of Ricardo Villalobos then!
Ludovico Einaudi - Primavera (Jan 10, 2009 - 03:14) | What is this? Does it count as classical music? Cannot be, it sounds good to my ears! Damn, i must be getting old..
The Weepies - Gotta Have You (Jan 08, 2009 - 01:36) | When i first heard this song i thought she was singing "no im not on coffee, no im not on crack" and thought it was hilarious. What a disappointment, now this song lacks something..
John Hiatt - Take it Down (Jan 08, 2009 - 01:23) | Definitelly prefer the female version of the Jennys. Didnt even know it was a cover.
Leonard Cohen - The Future (Jan 06, 2009 - 02:03) | peter_james_bond wrote: Great Lyrics:
Give me back my broken night my mirrored room, my secret life it's lonely here, there's no one left to torture Give me absolute control over every living soul And lie beside me, baby, that's an order! Give me crack and anal sex Take the only tree that's left and stuff it up the hole in your culture Give me back the Berlin wall give me Stalin and St Paul I've seen the future, brother: it is murder.
Things are going to slide, slide in all directions Won't be nothing Nothing you can measure anymore The blizzard, the blizzard of the world has crossed the threshold and it has overturned the order of the soul When they said REPENT REPENT I wonder what they meant When they said REPENT REPENT I wonder what they meant When they said REPENT REPENT I wonder what they meant
You don't know me from the wind you never will, you never did I'm the little jew who wrote the Bible I've seen the nations rise and fall I've heard their stories, heard them all but love's the only engine of survival Your servant here, he has been told to say it clear, to say it cold: It's over, it ain't going any further And now the wheels of heaven stop you feel the devil's riding crop Get ready for the future: it is murder
Things are going to slide ... There'll be the breaking of the ancient western code Your private life will suddenly explode There'll be phantoms There'll be fires on the road and the white man dancing You'll see a woman hanging upside down her features covered by her fallen gown and all the lousy little poets coming round tryin' to sound like Charlie Manson and the white man dancin' Give me back the Berlin wall Give me Stalin and St Paul Give me Christ or give me Hiroshima Destroy another fetus now We don't like children anyhow I've seen the future, baby: it is murder
I'm getting the chills just from reading these lyrics.. but hey its not all negative! He's got the part about love being the engine of survival. The crack and the anal sex part sounds pretty cheery to me as well.
Pink Floyd - Learning to Fly (Jan 05, 2009 - 13:27) | I was always wondering about the lyrics of this song.. did he really write it about flying an airplane?
Porcupine Tree - Heartattack in a Lay By (Dec 19, 2008 - 04:07) | Well i think it could be a bit more open for interpretations.. Instead of a wife it could be a girlfriend or maybe someone he lost? All the part about making up could be just in his head, maybe there's actually no one waiting for him and its all just some kind of hopeless dreams? Guess its a song about somebody's momentary private little hell. A great song could be interpeted in many ways, including this one.
Sia - Breathe Me (Dec 17, 2008 - 11:38) | This song is attempting to be over-dramatic in my opinion
2Raumwohnung - 2 von Millionen von Sternen (Dec 09, 2008 - 02:33) | This is my favorite German band! And it took me a while to find one of those, they actually make German sound kinda nice. Ok its pop but a bit of pop can be nice sometimes..
Depeche Mode - Dream On (Dec 02, 2008 - 02:49) | Regardless of what you think about the song itself, their production has always been on the cutting edge of electronic music, they've pioneered many many sounds.
Röyksopp - Poor Leno (Jul 09, 2007 - 04:10) | Great diversity on RP.. Nothing like Royksopp for the afterparty chill of it!
Leonard Cohen - The Future (Jul 07, 2007 - 01:57) | Aint nothing like starting a rainy July morning with Mr. optimism himself, the Cohen! Gotta love that little Jew who wrote the bible..
U2 - So Cruel (Jul 03, 2007 - 17:59) | She wares my love like a see-through dress, her lips say one thing, her movements something else.. Its lyrics like this and the dark, desperate and divine sound of this album that keep it near the top of my charts for more than ten years now, while many other albums come and go.
Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again (Jul 02, 2007 - 07:12) | Wow that was a melancholic string of songs.. perfect dark switch to DM, wish i'd be road trippin' now somewhere with my best friend
Vast - Touched (Jun 28, 2007 - 17:58) | Damn, this stuff rocks the wild monkeys out of me! Too bad i cant krank up the volume, coz its 3am..!
The Smashing Pumpkins - Today (Jun 21, 2007 - 05:14) | I just love to hear this song when you can at least partly identify with it, i mean when you feel just a bit that it could be your greatest day..
Porcupine Tree - Start of Something Beautiful (Jun 15, 2007 - 09:57) | Tel-Aviv is Steven Wilson's second home, so i've heard! Good to know that not everybody's afraid of Israel and can appreciate local artists like Aviv. Keep up the good work!
Vast - Thrown Away (Jun 12, 2007 - 14:04) | Thanx to the little german music festival that is taking place in my student residence, i can turn this one UP without getting complaints!!
Coldplay - See You Soon (Jun 12, 2007 - 13:57) | SmackDaddy wrote: Can I put Coldplay and Crowded House in a blender and the pour it down the drain? Please
Instead of putting it down the drain i suggest using this cocktail as an anti-hangover. Works great.
