Love the live version of this tune (not sure which album it's from) Really builds to a feverish pitch. Makes you want to see them live, and if a tune can have that effect then it's gotta be good....

i'll be sure to keep that in mind when i'm attending yet another completely sold out pearl jam show. when they rock my socks off for two and half hours, and then come back for a second encore, you can be sure i'll be thinking 'man, these guys are SO over' oh wait, no i won't. i'll be thinking that its pretty cool how sparse their stage set up is, because it's all about the music. i'll be thinking how awesome it is that they do everything they can to keep ticket prices down. i'll be thinking about how much money and time they have donated to charities close to my heart. i'll be thinking about the awesome way i have seen the band embrace their fans, with special attention to those less fortunate. lastly, i'll be thinking of their hottie tour manager smitty.

Adrian Belew's "Fly" would be sweet to complete the hat trick.

I thought people listening to RP would be open- minded and progressive, but when it comes to PJ, most of them are still stuck in the Ten-VS-Vitalogy era. Since No Code slid through the media and mainstream, they haven't produced any albums alike Ten-VS-Vitalogy, to their and the fan's good. They have moved forward, musically, lyrically, emotionally. No Code and Yield happens to be my fave. ones. While their previous albums were a little aggresive, loud and hard, No Code and Yield opens up to show the bands optimisism on faith, relationship, 'present tense', life in general.

If you still wouldn't think twice about PJ present credibility, I guess we have a different musical taste. Peace.

I agree with you completely. No Code was an absolute masterpiece and is still my favorite PJ album with Yield running a close second. They have gotten much better over the years, not just on their excellent albums, but also live. I have seen them a few times over years, as early as 1992 and as late as 2003. They have gotten better every time.

Now that is a fine cover.

And for those who say that Pearl Jam is over...they have no idea. Their integrity as far as commenting on anything here at RP seems mortally wounded. These gentlemen are still powerful. Listeners paying no heed are, at best, temporarily lost and, at worst, gone for good.

Um, I think this sounded better the first time, when Led Zeppelin did it as "Going To California" on Led Zeppelin IV.

Come on. Either cover the song properly or do something new.

PJ is far from over- they just won't be making another Ten, so don't hold your breath...
actually, since Ten, their albums have successively recieved less airplay and promotion (which is great for PJ fans), although the quality of the albums has not degraded a bit. they tour excessively and constantly expand their musical horizons with songwriting contributions coming from all five members.

Pearl Jam-probably the best "true" band out there...talent within this band is just unbelievable. I agree with a comment earlier...they never sold out to please mainstream crap radio, yet remaining true to their fans. And no, Ten is not their best album, and not certainly the only album. They have matured as a band, and Yield is excellent, and so is Riot Act, their latest.

One of the great ones!

Just followed by Drake's 'Fly' and I can hear what you're saying there.

Ahh... Yield was one of the first concerts I ever saw, back in high school. Every time I hear a song from that album, I remember the lights, how hot it was, the heavy smell of pot all around us... fantastic.
