I used to feel this way about Pearl Jam... and they have grown on me in the last few years. Into the Wild really cemented my appreciation of Eddie Vedder.

Way over rated.

yeah i hear ya. if he came to your state and started goin on about how much it sucked you'd be laughing or at least chilled out like the rest of us were for a while. when it goes on for more than a minute or so you get the idea that he really is bein an a*$ and not a comedian.
let's not forget that he decided to sling the contents of an entire bottle of red wine into the audience, mid drunken rant. just the fact that he's this sloppy drunk lets me know that he dosn't care i paid to come see him perform even if i am on the lawn. and how about the people who paid for good seats and got hosed with vino? maybe you'd just laugh it off, i dunno. (i've seen gwar, i prepared to get hosed with the "meat machine" and enjoyed gettin disgusting at their show). this is not gwar. this is middle aged eddie vedder bein a douche.
the only thing he played the whole night was their "riot act" album that had, literally, come out 3 days before the show and "given to fly" (which is what triggered my rant in the first place).
what a hilarious night. ha ha. i paid 40 bucks for a show that probably didn't last an hour and a half. all the while this guy i've admired since my pre-middle school days is actin like a tool.
he did encore with rockin in the free world, so that was cool, but overall it's one of the 3 most dissapointing shows i've ever been to.
p.j. and e.v. still have songs i love. so yeah, diazo, yuk it up cause the joke's obviously on me.

Hard to believe Mr. Vedder overlooked all of Texas' finer qualities. Like Texans' great sense of humor.

i go to see pearl jam and f'n vedder starts talkin trash to us and telling us texas is s$*t and all his worst memories happened in texas. said he remembers standing in an antbed and getting bitten by ants when he was a child. until his mom got him outta there. said he'd rather do that again than have to come to tx.
here's a thought, next time skip us cause i doubt that any of us who were booing you (most of us) would pay 5 bucks to see you again (unless you were in an antbed).
by the way you owe me 40 bucks.

Don't get me wrong, i love Pearl Jam, but The Flaming Lips might have beat them out in my book.

... they both played 5+ hours, which is ridiculously awesome.

Pearl Jam is the best live rock band you will see. Treat yourself to an amazing experience and then say "Holy Cripes, that was a real rock-n-roll extravaganza!"

...makes me want to drive fast.
