Haven't heard this in ages!!

Nice!! Love her voice.. not so sure about all the synth stuff in the background tho.. kind of predates that track by Air

Never quite *got* her. I have a live album of hers and have desperately tried to like it, but have never ever gravitated toward it. She even does a cover of "Strange Weather", one of my fave Tom Waits songs. Oh well. :)

I just heard her sing "As Tears Go By" off of her live CD. Eerie. If that and this are reasons to not do drugs... don't do drugs. That said... I kinda like this.

This was released in 1979, hearlding the end of disco and predating the birth of Ms. Clarkson by 3 years. What was disco?

There's a trend that's disturbing:

"I don't like the music"

"Well then you're an idiot."

It would seem more appropriate that folks would defend the song instead of attack the poster personally.

Actually has a Stevie Nicks quality to it.

OMG, this is not just bad, it is plain annoying. Or maybe that is the purpose.

The rating distribution speaks for itself.

Cool song. Good to hear it. Consider her a bit of an xx chromosome version of Keith Richards - vocals and otherwise (in fact, their lives did have some shared moments/parallels/drug preferences). What you don't like Keith's singing or Dylan's or Waits'? Sheesh, what about Randy Newman? Fine if you don't. Just hope the judgement isn't unfairly harder on Marianne than those gents. See if you come around after giving it a few listens. So be it if it is not your cup of tea; but that rough voice brings with it the authenticity of hard life experience. Certainly not the same voice or person who sang As Tears Go By. And unlike a singer of more recent vintage that is praised to high heaven here, Marianne is familar with the concept of melody. Speaking of Keef, how about "Happy" and "Wicked As It Seems"?

-Rocks Off

Yep and yohyoh! Fair enough, even though it took me 5 years to say it. Read her books ......and get in the know

Yes, I know Patsy, I remember the dream when she was singing. She had a cigarette also. Great show!

THIS is Marianne Faithful?!?!?!?!?!?! Gave it a 9 for the guts it took to step away from the folksy-bluesy stuff she did way back. Grand of you to play this Bill, TNX

Worst I've heard in a long, long time.

Broken English, indeed. Puke.
