I give this song two spins of my little cap. |

Where I live there was a ship building site that had a large sign, up for decades, that said "Erection Site". People got in such a fluffle over it, it was changed, at taxpayer expense, to "Assembly Yard". You kinda think we'd all have better things to tackle!
And I agree --- the censoring of the song here on RP is "seriously strange".

I second that. :nodhead: Censored art is compromised art -- and in this case it's insane! Why censor the word "erection?" Seriously strange. I've never heard the censored version before -- the radio station I listened to in Canada just played it with the potty language and all.

Thought I was listening to the Waterboys but had to check for sure. Nice tune. Good Spirit.

Woohoo! SOTW! And just days after I mentioned my preference of them over Rusted Root. Coincidence?
Many thanks!

I like this, even the kiddie chorus is growing on me on second listen.

I happen to love that chorus. It's as if the Beatles had gone Celtic rather than Indian I'd imagine they'd come up with something like that. Tubas and accordians!
I saw this band live about 15 years ago with my parents and bought what must've been their first EP. Never heard of them again until Faithlift came out. |

I think this song really grows on you. It is not a traditional rock song, but it has an interesting arrangement and also non-banal lyrics.
(Still waiting for that erection...)

Reminds me of something you'd hear in a bad community theater musical

If you guys need help tracking down any SOTW I'd be more than happy to help. I've got plenty of their albums. Don't know what kind of hoops you guys have to jump through...

Fairly decent lyrics, but you have to be awfully good to add an accordian in a rock tune. Ry Cooder/Flaco Jimenez being the noteworthy exception.
I could do without the choral chorus as well. |
