I like her voice. She doesn't have the voice of an angel, or anything, but its quirkiness is what makes it appealing. The non-perfection is really a part of the un-Diva movement of the 90s fem-folk scene. The idea that female artists don't have to be bombshells or have the vocal chords of a god to be allowed to perform.

A lot of Alanis haters out there. But she's a pretty amazing lyricist. Someone previously stated how she completely went off the charts with that debut album with her new persona. Imagine the stardom. Smart to disappear for a awhile. I actually like her follow-up to that monster album. So the rest of you can go piss off. I say that respectfully, of course.
