:( I do not know what the Tori hype is all about. She has a great voice but her songs are not so appealing to me, anyway. I guess it is to much girl angst for me...

"From: Greg in VA
Date: Aug 25,2001

Tori Amos remains one of the most remarkable Artists to grace us with her craft in an ever changing and often turbulent industry. "Silent All These Years" is (forgive the reference) an anthem toward the anguish and pain that every yearning soul experiences on the journey of self discovery. A whimsical, almost music box sounding tune which possess the kind of haunting quality that commands your attention...and most importantly, your reflection. A masterpiece!"

Thought this was worth bringing up to the top. Well stated. This is the song that put Tori on the map and it is easy to hear why. A touching, moving song that can still bring goosebumps. What a chorus.

Not a bad song but, in general, Tori Amos is played way too often here for my tastes. Unless you're a Tori-is-a-Goddess person, a little of her goes a long way.

I have quite some difficulties with a lot of other songs performed by her, but this one leaves a really strong impression.

TORI's lyrics have helped me get through so much. I thank her, and you guys for playing her.

ditz?! Are you on crack?

Thanks for playing this. An amazing song from an incredible album. Saw this tour around 94ish and can't even describe my 8th row experience.

I give it a 6. Yes, she got most of her vocal chops from Kate Bush but, she seems to be developing her own "voice" -- creative aesthetic and vocal sound. My personal favorite is the "Choirgirl Hotel" CD. Tori & others play together as an ensemble, rather than the other instruments simply supporting/augmenting Tori's piano & voice. I have not heard every recording she's made, however, her piano playing has yet to impress me. Still not sure why she plays that $100,000+ Bosendorfer.

My thoughts exactly. It's a wonderful tune.
I'm more partial to her earlier tunes, which were more experimental for the time. They seem to me to be much deeper than most of her later works, even though all her music stands out on its own in one way or another.

Everytime I here Tori Amos, I think of her as stealing the airplay that Kate Bush rightfuly deserves. :

Tori Amos is by far my favorite female artist. I instantly bought everything CD she ever made after listening to a few of her beautiful songs. I've been listening to her for years now, and i'm still completely in love with her.

From what I've heard of her live stuff (shows on VH1) I'd like to see her live. One of her live versions of this is awesome with her shift in playing...

That's the nice thing (sometimes) about artists like Tori.. they can play differently to change the song instead of just "singing" it differently.. Mix the two.. vocally changing the song and muscially altering the song, and some times the combination is awesome...
