There aren't very many stars who don't have ego problems. But I consider what they do to be entertainment, I don't follow them as role models. |

How do you do that?
It's really easy, although SoundExchange is trying to kill this habit. You need an application that records sound created by another app. If you use a Mac, you can use Wiretap Pro or Audio Hijack Pro to record the audio stream as it's captured by iTunes (or whatever app you use to listen to iTunes). I believe both apps can convert the audio stream into different formats such as AIFF, AAC, MP3, etc.
Once you've finished recording, you can import the audio file into your iTunes library and transfer it to your iPod, CD, etc.
Wiretap Pro and Audio Hijack Pro are shareware--you'll have to pay to use all their features. There are freeware apps that can also record streaming audio. There are many equivalent streaming recording apps on the Windows side of things. |

Davies deserves it because of much of the music he put out.

Back up everybody, put down those rocks. I will attempt to defend Chrissie's honor to this crazed WAussie...
1. You are completely wrong about that.
2. You may have a point, but she's got her own shimmy going.
3. As much as I love Ray (and have kissed his sweet face BTW), what makes you think SHE was the shafter vs. the shaftee? Ray was one of her idols of all time, I hardly think she was the one to shaft. |

Hot damn! The Pretenders just don't get played enough anymore. I heard them played on a classic rock station a few months ago. I had the second album when I was 12. Does that mean I'm getting old?
Shit.

Well said! She burst hard into my world when she and her bandmates opened for The Who in '80, and her voice can still grab me pretty well. Neko Case has a nice set of pipes, too, but I dare say your question makes a darned good point... |

lotsandnothing wrote:At the time of creating this tune, Chrissie Hynde was (and by extension her band was) rock genius.
She'd been a rocker since adolescence (if not as accomplished a musician) and she knew her musical roots and how far she could stretch to both remain true to them and to have something original to say. With a few other of her peers she helped keep the soul of radio alive as well as rock and roll itself.
Whatever followed in years after, love it or hate it, Hynde assured herself a well-earned place in the rock pantheon with her output of this time.
