I love the way U2 seem to polarise people's opinions on here.

The funniest thing is the fact that some people seem to like spending their time telling everyone over and over how much they dislike them by commenting on nearly every single one of their songs.

Why bother? It's hardly likely that someone is going to change their opinion of U2 just because someone else doesn't like them is it? There really is no need to keep telling us, we get it OK?

As for the song - as wonderful today as it was the first time I heard it. More like this please RP.

I respect U2 more than I like to listen to them. Usually it's the other way around with bands. Most times, I go out of my way not to know anything about bands I like. Watching the ramones End of the Centry taught me that.

I do like this song, and was surprised to see how many good tunes were in their itunes boxset.

Over-played, over-rated, and soon to be over.

Funny, this isn't any less cringeworthy the first time I'm hearing it on RP than it was the fifty thousandth time I heard it on classic rock radio.

Poor grammar huh?

So as that you know for future reference, "repetetive" is spelt: repetitive.

Also... saying, "in the sense of off key" - would technically sound and read better as follows: "In an off-key manner."

Terrific song nonetheless.

But if perfection did exist, this would be an excellent example of it.

It's impossible to quantify my favorites of all time... this is the list as it stands today in my head:

1. Leonard Cohen's "The Future"
2. Pink Floyd's "Speak to Me"
3. John Lennon's "Imagine"

There once was a girl who did not want to listen to this song because of her memories attached to it ... only once I listened to it together with her. Ever since, it makes me almost crying ...

Yeah, those were also the three singles. Bullet the Blue Sky disrupts the album's flow, but things pick up again with the majestic Running to Stand Still.

oh come on, "Bullet the Blue Sky" is probably the best song on the album!

Yes! I finally get to hear this track on RP!

I ran upstairs as soon as I heard that oh-so familiar bassline come up.

Good memories.

U2's second finest moment. (After Running to Stand Still.) I don't understand why it has never been played.
