I've loved this song since it was new...
it is supposedly from the 'Kids' soundtrack, yet I've watched that movie a few times, and I have never heard it.

Was that as a result of too much chili at the retirement home?
Oh, no, that was Old Folks EXplosion. A 4.

what a fabulous song!
That haunting bass-loop, the slacker voice and the drums that sound as if they were recorded on a 50 bucks drumkit.
BTW, wasn't this one used on the Kids soundtrack?

If you like Folk Implosion check out Lou Barlow's other band Sebadoh.

Folk Implosion is merely a side project.

Sebadoh the "Lo Fi" Alt Rock band is Lou's main focus.

The CD "Bakesale" is a classic...

The point is that on RP you get to hear something like this between Richard Thompson and Jam Nation. It's all about the mix. If you reject a song just because Clear Channel has played it, you're falling prey to the same dogmatic, rigid thinking that makes some listen to music only if it's on Clear Channel. Free your mind!

And your ass will follow?

I have heard this song countless times and just noticed as it began that an early-80's Rush song (Subdivisions?) has a synth sound that would flow great into this. FWIW. ;)
