it brings me to a particular period of my life, when I were teen, full of questions, doubts, fears, love.... and it's funny to think that some things remains always the same... maybe a little less questions and love...

Very few rock and roll songs work with lavish orchestration. This one isn't one of them. Worst song on a good CD

all my favorite singers couldnt sing
d.c. berman - silver jews
I feel sorry for those who discount bands/songs/albums because a vocalist doesnt meet certain imaginary criteria.
I have an opinion on Corgans voice but it is far more complex than "make it stop, his voice is terrible (dumb head against wall emoticon here)".
I'm mad that he retired his soft lullabye voice from the earlier albums for that snarly rasp that dominates the later albums.

Can you read?
I said:
"So clear channel?" More like "so classic." Just because a song is on heavy rotation on a clear channel station does not mean it sucks. Disarm was released (and became popular) at a time when Clear Channel did not even exist.
I in fact am NOT saying that no songs played on commerical radio should be played here. I'm saying the opposite. I was responding to a comment that said this song reminded the listener of Clear Channel, and I reminded him that this song became popular before Clear Channel dominated the airwaves with their "advertising, the forced feeding of songs, the homogenization of people and music." It's a good song, and that's why it is played here. |

Oh man, even with that horrible singing, this song starts out as an 8 for me. Man, it's so good.

Mmm this is more better! I don't like Smashing Pumpkins unilaterally - but this song is wonderful - and in fact the CD was pretty damn good. |

I love the entire Singles soundtrack. |

Wonderful post! Right there with a great post Lester once made explaining an ellipsis.
Song? 7 + fond memories |

I work across the hall from KCUV in Denver. They play "Americana," basically alt-country. Last week Son Volt were hanging out in the studio. The station streams online at http://www.kcuvradio.com/. Also worth checking out is KVCU in Boulder at http://www.radio1190.org/
But really you should never shut off Radio Paradise. |

so what are you saying? that absolutely no songs played on "regular" radio should be played here? you are missing the point of alternate radio. it is the advertising, the forced feeding of songs, the homogenization of people and music. it is not about one song. otherwise we can get rid of many many songs if that is the basis of whether it is played on clear channel or not. open your eyes!! and Clearchannel has existed for a long long long time now. GET what this is about!

i'll go you one better as a person who hasn't had a radio in the car at all for going on 4 years now(three car stereos stolen in less than 6 months, that's what i get for moving to LA). with the exception of NPR, i find silence, or the hum of traffic, or even my own screetchy singing voice preferable to most of what's out on the airwaves these days. |
