"As soon as your born you start dying so you might as well have a good time."

Best line ever, We're not worthy...

Shimmer, I have a suspicion that Prolonging the Magic was remixed from the original release and marketed without noting that important fact. When I killed my copy of the CD and replaced it recently, almost every song seems to have a noticeably thinner sound, and some of the bass tracks seem changed completely. This can be heard clearly on cut 9, Hem Of Your Garment. I'm currently haunting used CD shops to seek out the earlier, ballsier mix. Anyone else notice this?

best example of a band that is pure rock'n roll by trying to stay away of the archetype rock thing. Anytime anywhere

They're just a little bit too far over that line for me.

I hear a lot of older Cake on here and you know what I noticed? The lead singer used to have a major problem saying "Oh yeah, Oh no, Oh yeah" in ALMOST EVERY SONG.

Glad he dropped that habit.

A very distinctive sound - never takes very far into a Cake song before you know who it is (and I know I just gave the Cake-haters a great straight line). This one and the cover of "I Will Survive" are probably my favorites, although the "Long Jacket" is pretty good, too.

There is actually a phrasing in the bible (old testament I believe) about sheep go to heaven, and goats go to hell.

Probably the catchiest song ever written extolling the virtues of Satanism. Also, the only song i know that quotes "Waiting for Godot". Overall, a fantastic tune.

Following this with "Piggies" is a stroke of programming genius as well.

Indeed, Leslie, but you might keep in mind Twain's comment: "You go to Heaven for the climate and Hell for the company."

20 drunken people at a party at 4 in the morning singing along VERY loudly to the chorus.

One of the greatest end of party songs of all time. If there's ever a song that is perfect for a late Friday afternoon, this is it. More of this PLEASE! :D

Imagine yourself in a crowded bar in downtown Sacramento, everybody dancing their derrieres off to this song, singing along to the chorus -- my memories circa 1992-3. This is one of my favourites from Cake.

Great song. I love how at the end he just starts repeating "go to hell". Great stuff.
