PLEASE less led zep. no offense. i know that many of the community think that they were the greatest thing since sliced bread. however, they are well covered on most community "classic rock" stations. =;

Never has a drummer driven a song like John Bonham drove this one.

Except for 'Sing, Sing, Sing' by Benny Goodman .....

This song is actually part of a gaff in 'Fast Times At Ridgemont High' when Damone tells Ratner 'Whenever possible, listen to side one of Zeppelin IV' and when they cut to the next scene they are in the car and Kashmir is playing...Oops..

Yup, it's good, not fantastic, but not as half pathetic as most zep covers seem to be.

First There There by Radiohead and then Kashmir. Who woulda thunk it? (and does anyone remember that song?)

Nice set up, especially for a woman who is stuck in her basement office on Memorial Day grading papers and writing exams.

Top R&R playlist for sure. This is what Jim M. and Elvis P. and the rest are listening to in R&R heaven. It just does not get any better.

All you bonzo fans out there should check his son - the Jason Bonham Band. Their "In The Name of My Father / Zepset" album is really very cool.

Good call, the drum intro to end all drum intros.

It's worth viewing the DVD collection of How The West Was Won to really appreciate the musicianship of LZ.

I, too, am sick of these bands squeezing the extra buck for commercials (The Clash broke my heart) but unless y'all bitch to Jaguar, Cadillac et all, the trend will continue.

I dread the day a Nirvana tune will be used to sell a Jeep or something. :? :?

Amen. And if Courtney has her way, it'll probably be any day now.

Simply Awesome

I've written elsewhere about drummers driving a band, but Bonzo is the master.

Not a cheesy cover but a great one is Kevin Gilbert's version from his Thud CD - it was a bonus CD included with the album, and his version ROCKS! Also a live version available from his "Thud Live at the Troubadour" CD. Get these - they're worth hunting down!

When I was little, when I heard this while walking by Spencers Gifts with my mom and dad, I thought this was the theme song to a James Bond movie (Live and Let Die, but I didn't even know which one back then.)

When I was thirteen, I bought my first Zep because I thought Bond was cool, but was I surprised that I had it all wrong!

In a perfect world, I'd never have to hear this song again. However, this is merely the best of all possible worlds, so I have to hear it over and over and over and over and over and ....... *sigh*

Yeah, Led Zeppelin is over played so let's not listen to them anymore.

And while we're at it, let's shelve Shakespeare, Mozart, Beethoven, Van Gogh paintings, turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, and brilliant Fall sunsets. That stuff is all over done and we're tired of it.

I've always hated this song - not in the sense that I hate, say, "Yummy, yummy, yummy", but in the sense that LZ did so much music that I love so much and this one just makes me gag to think it's the same band that did .

Oh well, to each their own.
