Violent Femmes - Blister in the Sun Cake - Sheep go to heaven Ozark Mountain Daredevils - If you want to get to heaven Squirrel Nut Zippers - Hell
These songs are all whimsical, silly, downright stupid. Goes with the territory. |

Pretty cool. First a little heaven from the Ozark Mountain Daredevils and now some hell by the Squirrel Nut Zippers. (love that name)

You are so right. SNZ have captured the calypso beat better than most who've tried - and failed. |

OMG, from the sublime to the ridiculous. The Cake "Mahna Mahna" following this doesn't help either.

Had to walk away from the computer during this song and in my head it mutated into "I Wanna Be Like You" from The Jungle Book.

The I stands for independent. I.e. independent of the Greek (er, fraternity, that is) system. |

Thank you. Folks who don't like this are likely too young to remember Cab Calloway and others of the jive/jazz folks much of which was in pre and immediate post WWII Harlem. I view this song in the same vein and get pictures of sultry women wearing too much perfume and dresses with padded shoulders and smoking cig's between wild dances. Sounds like fun to me. |

Don't know why RP thinks this should follow classic Johnny Cash, not to mention that this song sucks raw rotten eggs.

Please play a different Zips song! There are so many great ones — this just isn't among them.

I love the SNZs. This isn't one of their better tunes, though.

Steve! I am with you on this one. I think this song is aptly named. If I am a bad, bad girl and go to hell, they'll be playing this for all eternity. (Chris Isaak's " Bad, Bad Thing" is another thing entirely, but I digress .... ) |
