Classic album....remember the day this came out. A Chicago radio station played the whole album and I loved it on first listen and I still do.

Interesting comment. However we define "it", I agree that it sounds great and certainly would enjoy hearing Radio Paradise Inc. playing more country/acoustic folk/feminine stuff. Like this crazy song that follow.... |

Thanks to RP, I'm slowly warming up to Neil Young, after many years of respect but intolerance. (The guys I work with have helped, as well.)

Neil is channelling his inner Woody Guthrie.

Nicolette Larson was one of my favorite back up vocalist w/Neil. She has a few very good solo albums as well. Neil is an 11.

I loved her voice, she provided backing vocals for many artists during her career, most of the bands I enjoy. But to me, she seems to stand out on this album, and made a small hit with her own recording of Neil's "Lotta Love". She was taken too early at 45.
Indeed .. Tylenol and Valium will do it to you every time. Her passing was a significant loss to the music community. |

macadavy wrote:Lord of the Rings? Wha? Neil Young recorded the album Comes a Time in 1978. J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings was first published in three volumes in 1954-5. But I don't think 'misty mountains' has anything to do with LOR, it just goes nicely with 'human highway'. I stand corrected. Thank you. |

Heh - another vote for Neil from the South - he's always been a favorite of mine and the only thing about Neil is that I can't decide if I like him best un-plugged or when he throws it all to the wind and rocks out. |
