Yup. Could be.
Well, there are a few other people on RP who feel the same (about REM and/or U2 and/or Elvis Costello) but, yeah - most of the rest of us wonder what the heck y'all are smoking.
You don't have to like 'em but that does not make them overrated.

I hate when people use stupid words. Especially when they use them incorrectly, as you did (I looked it up). You yukky man. |

This record always deserves to be cranked way up, and I seriously doubt if it'll ever get old.

A typical excerpt from any REM song comment page on RP:
blah blah blah new REM sucks blah blah blah I'm an old fart blah blah blah I still wear my clothes from junior college in 1981 blah blah blah I'm just mad that REM could evolve over time and I can't blah blah blah what time does the buffet start blah blah blah
Oh, and this young whipper-snapper still thinks this is a classic song and album. |

My thoughts exactly. I think this is the song that I first heard from them back in the early '80's...and I have loved them ever since. |

REM before "the fall."
I find the comments about REM being the next generation's classic rock interesting. That is what happens when songs get over played.

Two songs ago Josh Joplin came on , and I was going to compare them to an REM song...where Stipe talks his way through...(not this)
