One of my fave Zep tunes, and I think I even like the live version off How The West Was Won better

Back to 8.8! Sarah? Really? I'd keep that under wraps if it were me. She's no good, no good, no good, no good. |

U2—good call. And interestingly, they're even more longstanding than 20 years— Boy was released in 1980. |

What a great (and somewhat mindbending) question. I would confidently put my money on Beck Hansen, Jack White, and Damon Albarn. Other than that....? I'd have to go back to early REM, but that doesn't really qualify as current since it's already over 20 years old (!). I actually love a lot of new music, but overall it's just not even comparable to the Pantheon you enumerate. And indeed, a lot of the good stuff, e.g. Wilco is, really kinda Beatles homage. My favorite Zep album. A lot more acoustically melodious tunes and the trippy album cover was fun to play with. There were holes cut out and as you spun the inner cover wheel, pretty psychedelic images would come into view! Sweeeet!!! |

Ok, yeah, Stairway has been way over-played, no doubt about that but let's keep it in perspective here. Stairway was way beyond anything heard on the radio at that time. Zep refused to chop it down to a radio-friendly size and there were so many requests for it that the stations had to play it anyway. It changed a lot of things and as much as I don't care if I ever hear it again, it's a GREAT song. |

I don't think they were capable of putting out anything less than great songs. I can't say that about any other band. |

I grew up listening to a lot of Zep, and I generally find it bumms me out for some reason, it did then too. However, this is really a pretty song, thanks for playing it.

I somehow misspent my youth listening to "classic rock" stations with their daily "Get the Led Out" features, and still managed never to hear this track before today. It's really good!
