Finally additional Jetro Tull tunes.
Keep expanding the JT playlist with more great cuts. "Lifes a long song" and "Living in the past"would fit perfectly into your mix.

By far my favorite Tull song. Thanks RP for playing the good stuff instead of the rote.

What's with the cover? Is he doing the Crane technique? Used to like them, now they are barely tolerable.

Don't worry - you'll grow out of it soon.

I used to love Tull, but now I find it quite boring.

Besides being a fine song, this brings back fond memories of a girlfriend I borrowed this album from back in highschool.

Well , he's developed a trademark 'sound'. I would like to see what instrument makes that noise, like on "Walking to Hawaii".

From a purely literal point of view, anything that brings to mind images of skating on fresh ice is, at the very least, "quite likable"

Great! I unfortunately sold off a bunch of my CDs before the advent of ripping them into mp3s, so a bunch ofl Tull records I had are lost to me. :( The only ones I have left are AQUALUNG, THICK AS A BRICK, MINSTREL IN THE GALLERY, CREST OF A KNAVE and the cigar boxset. Ah well.

I have to agree with blackjack below. I used to be a big tull fan but most of their music doesn't hold up at all. Their first three cd's do indeed have a considerable amount of songs that still work today mainly because of the blues element present. No r&b no longevity!

Oh, this is just SO good.

And, as for affectations such as the codpiece and tights... well....

... at a concert in 1968? as the obligatory 3 minute drum solo started, I saw Ian dismantle his flute, pack it away, retrieve a packet of Benson & Hedges out of his furry sporran, light one, smoke it furiously down to the tip, drop it, grind it out with a leather-booteed foot, open the flute case, re-assemble the flute, put it to his lips, spin around and come in again perfectly on cue for the rest of the number.

He's been an entertainer from Day One. :)

Way back when, I remember thinking that it was great that instruments like the flute & accordion could be used in a "rock" band. I mean, think of the kid having to practice every day thinking "Yeah right, where am I ever going to play something like this for money?" - & then hearing this.
