One irritating step up from Jeff Buckley. She has a unique power to irritate with the breathiness that is all her own.

I wish I didn't love you as much as little as you loved me.

I wish I could erase all memories of you.

That's what my summer was all about. F#$@ing art gallery, for me.

Beth rules. Her voice gets stuck in my jaw.

For once, we agree.

Excellent tune...I prefer this version to the other. Funny world.

Central Reservation (Then Again Version) lyrics

Running down a central reservation in last nights red dress,
And I can still smell you on my fingers and taste you on my breath;
Stepping through brilliant shades,
All the color you bring,
This time, this time, this time,
Is fine just as it is.

Today is whatever I want it to mean,
Today is whatever I want it to mean.
Is this where memories are made,
Well, dreams do come true.

Everything I ever took for granted,
I want to see it through.

I step through every shade,
Any color you bring,
Cause this time, this time, this time,
Is fine just as it is.

Today is whatever I want it to mean,
Today is whatever I want it to mean.

It's like living in the middle of the ocean,
With no future, no past,
And everything that's good right now,
Well, I don't wish for it to last.

I'll step through brilliant shades,
Every color you bring,
Cause this time, this time, this time,
Is fine just as it is.

And today is whatever I want it to mean,
Today is whatever I want it to mean,
Today, today, is whatever I want it to mean,
Today is whatever I want it to mean.

Do you remember dancing with me to this song in your Boston apartment?

I wish I didn't love you as much as little as you loved me.

I wish I could erase all memories of you.

Love this tune (close second for our wedding song)....not grooving on the remix at all...the original really focuses on her voice and the vocals.

There are some good remixes of this song floating around....

oh great. now that you've pointed it out - it's everywhere! it's going to drive me nuts!

Yep. You put your finger on it for me.

Beth, if you're out there, don't listen to them honey. The words are extraordinary and the breathiness of your vocals is a style issue that only people who haven't had any in a while don't understand.

Yeah.... seems to me that this song isn't quite as good as some of her others, yet gets more airplay.

One of my favorite Beth Orton tunes. Ben Watt does an amazing job with this version of the song.
